To see if orlistat capsules are right for you, find your height on the chart. You may consider starting a weight loss program with orlistat if you weight is the same or more than the weight shown for your height. For overweight adults 18 years and older: Take 1 capsule with each meal containing fat Do not take more than 3 capsules daily Use with a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet and exercise program until you reach your weight loss goal. Most weight loss occurs in the first 6 months. If you stop taking orlistat, continue with your diet and exercise program. If you start to regain weight after you stop taking orlistat, you may need to start taking orlistat again along with your diet and exercise program. Take a multivitamin once a day, at bedtime, when using orlistat.

Orlistat can reduce the absorption of some vitamins. Follow a well-balanced, reduced-calorie, low-fat diet. Try starting this diet before taking orlistat. Orlistat works by preventing the absorption of some of the fat you eat. The fat passes out of your body, so you may have bowel changes. You may get: - Gas with oily spotting - Loose stools - More frequent stools that may be hard to control Eating a low-fat diet lowers the chance of having these bowel changes For every 5 pounds you lose from diet alone, orlistat can help you lose 2-3 pounds more. In studies, most people lost 5-10 pounds over 6 months. Stop use and ask a doctor if Severe or continuous abdominal pain occurs. This may be a sign of a serious medical condition. If pregnant or breast-feeding, do not use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. When I started Alli I was ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 5/26/08 When I started Alli I was 142. Ive been taking Alli for going on 3 week and now weight 137. It's a great product but you HAVE to go by the diet. Any SMALL slip WILL give you treatment effects. I hardly work out and Im amazed how much Ive lost in 3 weeks. If youre going to commit to this and follow all the instructions than go for it, if not it's not worth the spending all this money on it and especially not worth the embarrassment of oily spotting. Its no joke guys, it's GROSS. I slipped maybe twice but never again. I learned my lesson!!! Thanks Alli!!!

I have used this product ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 5/20/08 I have used this product for 5 months along with diet and exercise 20 minutes 2-3x/week, and have lost 25 pounds. I know I would have lost some anyway without it, but I fully attribute the amount of weight I have lost to this product. As for treatment effects, you must be fully committed to your diet to use this product. I had to completely overhaul my lifestyle to ensure that I would not have treatment effects. But with attention to what you eat, you will have no problems. I am convinced that all the people who complain of "oily farts or other accidents can only blame themselves for not staying under their fat limit at each meal. Commit to the diet by watching fat and calories, get some exercise, and this will help you lose weight. This product won't lose the weight for you, but it really will help what you're already trying to accomplish.

I did not lose any ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 4/12/08 I did not lose any weight, and followed the instructions exactly. I am 5'8 and 156 pounds, and wanted to lose about 10 -15 pounds of fat. If you already eat pretty healthy, this product is a waste. It does nothing but block fat, and if you already eat very limited amounts of fat, it does nothing for you. Don't buy this unless you have problem managing the food you eat, and need a nutrition makeover. Even then, this isn't the best out there. After you stop "blocking the fat" then what? The fat will just come right back to your body.

Well I have been taking ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 3/30/08 Well I have been taking the pill for about two weeks now and I like it. I'm now learning how to eat the correct way and I have noticed the leaking and grease in my stool a few times but nothing uncontrollable. Thats because I eat fried chicken and I have lost 7 pounds and I'm not as hungry as much and I exercise about two times a week. Most of all I feel good about myself because I learning to eat the right way.

I began using Alli about ... by Cathy in Ottawa, KS on 3/12/08 I began using Alli about five months ago, and have lost around 20 pounds. I have side effects if I consume huge amounts of fat, but if I am reasonably careful, I don't have any problem. I do work out some, and am fairly active. I hit a "plateau" after three months, but the weight has started dropping off again... slowly, the way it should. I would recommend Alli to friends. Just don't be an idiot and eat a large pizza all at one time.

My doctor actually ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 3/12/08 My doctor actually recommended this horrible product to me. It was painful and disgusting even though I was on a strict low fat diet. I stayed on it regularly for about 7 weeks and noticed no change in weight. The oily spotting stories I will vouch for too. Totally disgusting product.

This product really does ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 3/10/08 This product really does work, but you can't eat bad food. This really trains you on how to eat well. Of course you are not going to feel well if you eat a taco or anyone other fast food. You need to learn how to order your food when youre out to eat. I always ask for my sides without oil or butter because every restaurant adds it to their veggies to make them taste better. And you can eat any dessert that is low in fat. I have only not felt well once, and it was because I ate fried eggplant, so it's my own fault.

I am so grateful for this ... by Cynthia in Undisclosed on 2/21/08 I am so grateful for this product, I've been using it for about three years (zenical) and now it's over the counter. A polyp in my colon was detected and removed (I give the credit to zenical). As time goes by, you will learn to control accidents, when I did have a leakage, I would be some happy because that was oily fat coming out and I love it--I made a song about, oh look at the fat coming out--I look good and I feel good--Thank you Alli.

This was the WORST ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 2/1/08 This was the WORST product ever!!! I have about 20 lbs or so to lose, and thought that on top of my low calorie/weight watcher plan this would be a great help. I took it for a few days with no problems, and then the last time I took it was after eating a taco. It has been a week now, and Im just now able to go to the bathroom without screaming. After the treatment effects, I developed the worse case of hemorrhoids, and a fissure. I have NEVER been in so much pain before. So now for the last week I have been using every cream you can think of. I have lost 4 pounds, but Im sure thats from not being able to walk!

The only thing I can say is that you really have to keep going to the bathroom and cleaning yourself, because you lose control of your bowels a little bit. My bowels haven't been normal since I have taken the pill, and there is a lot of leakage.

I have decided that I would rather have the extra money and never again, fall into this Corporate America thievery. I simply need to eat reasonably and exercise my body every day; beyond the daily routine. This diet world we live in is totally off the wall. We need to move our body's girls and boys. We also need to stop over indulging ourselves, when there are so, so many people going hungry every day.

I took it about 2 weeks ... by checked in Undisclosed on 1/2/08 I took it about 2 weeks ago and thought on the entire situation before I decided to comment and concluded that this wasn't for me. I have always managed to carry that extra 20 pounds or so around even though my doctor says that he just doesn't get why. I practically already live the "Alli diet plan". I eat healthy and I do cardio 4/5 times a week and weights/yoga 3/4 times a week. I was hoping that maybe this would aid giving me through that extra step. I had the same problem as another reviewer with "leakage" (as Alli calls it). It was only the second day of taking it. I'm sure glad it was a day off. I spent all day in the bathroom and felt miserable. And unlike what they say, I wasn't going out and munching on hamburgers and fries but eating grilled chicken or fish with veggies! So like others have said... if you already feel that you know how to eat properly, this pill is not for you and can only make life more embarrassing!

If you are having ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 12/27/07 If you are having problems with the medication working as I did at first, examine other medications you are taking. I was also taking Prilosec and not getting results from the Alli. I have stopped the Prilosec and take Rolaids now and am seeing the results (literally!) from the Alli.

I had to think long and ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 12/7/07 I had to think long and hard before buying this. First off, it's expensive. Second, I wasn't sure if I wanted to take a drug. However, I've been working out long and hard and trying to eat sensibly and be a good girl and I'd not lost weight in about a year. Seriously frustrating! I started Alli and after a couple of weeks, weight has started coming off. I did mess up a few times and had some "events" that were kind of gruesome. As the instructions recommend, for the first couple of days, you should really make sure you can be "close to home". My body is definitely changing for the better and I am finally seeing some result for my hard work. This is not a magic bullet though. YOU HAVE TO WORK!
