Usually I am buy whatever is on sale, but a few years ago my dermatoligist gave me a sample of Cetaphil and told me it was so gentle that I could use it as a spot moisturizer as well as an every day cleanser. I was skeptical, especially when he recommended that I did not need an everyday moisturizer, but I had been fighting acne for so long I thought what the heck I will give it a try. I am a brand buyer when it comes to Cetaphile from now on. This stuff is great for an everyday cleanser and as a spot moisturizer!!

Whoever said this is not greasy is lying. The person who mentioned how water beads up on the skin after using this product is correct. I had the exact same experience. This stuff doesn't seem to rinse off, even when using a wash cloth. It definitely leaves an oily/waxy residue. I'm guessing this is for people with extremely dry skin. But I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, as it is supposed to be a cleanser, not a lotion. I can't imagine the acne this product would cause after long term use. I ended up throwing it away.

I like this cleanser because it makes my skin feel really soft after just one use. However, I feel like I put (hair) conditioner onto my skin because it is so thick , so it clogs my pores. I have oily/combo skin, but if you have dryer skin then I recommend this [:

I use it daily. I also use it when backpacking and in between showers if cleaning is necessary but I can not shower, because it can stay on the skin without the need to rinse it off.

CETAPHIL cleanser is easy to use:

Without Water: Apply a liberal amount to the skin and rub gently. The unique, low lathering formula allows gentle, yet thorough cleansing. Remove excess with a soft cloth, leaving a thin film of CETAPHIL on the skin. The emollient quality will leave the skin soft and moist.
With Water: Apply to the skin and rub gently. Rinse.
