I've used this since all the raves from dermatologists about how it's all you need and so gentle on the skin... while it's fine I really don't prefer the scent of it and it seems almost TOO gentle aka doesn't clean very well and it's a bit drying actually. It's OK, it's cheap, I really don't understand all the hype.

The only product I consistently buy.

Despite listing myself as a brand buyer, this budget product is one that I consistently buy and use. It has been recommended to me by dermatologists and facialists as a gentle cleanser for use at night. I don't think of myself as having particularly dry or sensitive skin, but it is gentle which can be helpful for acne-prone skin. My complaint was that it wasn't removing all my make-up at the end of the day, but my facialist suggested I wash a little bit longer or a second time. So that's what I do and it has seemed to help. Certainly, I've noticed an improvement in my skin's texture and I have fewer break-outs, so I remain convinced.

I suppose it's mild, but it just does not work at all. It doesn't remove makeup or clean my skin at all. It also leaves a greasy film behind.

A dermatologist recommended this to me over 10 years ago as PART OF an acne treatment regime. I use it morning and night. It is an EXCELLENT gentle cleanser and I never travel anywhere without it. In fact, without it, the condition of my skin begins to deteriorate after the first washing with any alternative. I CANNOT USE SOAP on my face. Good for maturing skin and for young children. Doesn't burn like soap does if you get it in your eyes. Moderately effective at removing light makeup - but not effective for heavy makeup or waterproof mascara but this is not surprising or what it is intended for.

My derm recommended this to me several years ago. Very gentle & non-irritating to my extremely sensitive skin. Removes even the long lasting makeup. This is the "all skin types" version. Comes in "oily skin" version which is also good. Highly recommended.

After I destroyed by skin with all the harsh acne products I wanted something gentle and calming. I picked up cetaphil and after a week of using it day and night I was amazed. My skin has cleared up and I no longer have dry patches or an oily Tzone. I believe most people develop bad acne after using so much stuff on their skin. Good thing it regenerates. It has been a month and my skin tone looks natural and not damaged.I still have the occasional small pimple but nothing noticable or cystic. So if your face is screaming for rescue try cetaphil GENTLE skin cleanser. The other cetaphil is a bit strong for dry or sensative skin but I use it when my skin gets hormonal and oily. Either way this is a great product and drinking enough water helps too.

I've used Cetaphil products for years, and sometimes I try other products, only to return to using Cetaphil. I use the Gentle Cleaner in the morning because it gets my skin ready for makeup application without irritating it, and I use the Daily Facial Cleanser in the evening to remove makeup, oils, and pollutants. My skin is in great shape!

I've tried many, many cleansers over the years and I always come back to this one. It's generally good for removing makeup unless you are wearing really thick, waterproof cosmetics. I use it on my face and body, and have been using it on my daughter since she was an infant as well. There's just nothing like it.

CETAPHIL cleanser is easy to use:

Without Water: Apply a liberal amount to the skin and rub gently. The unique, low lathering formula allows gentle, yet thorough cleansing. Remove excess with a soft cloth, leaving a thin film of CETAPHIL on the skin. The emollient quality will leave the skin soft and moist.
