It works well by Laura in Washington, DC on 9/20/08 Pros: Preventsstops heartburn Best Uses: As needed Bottom Line: recommended I use Zantac when I am getting hearburn in the morning between breakfast in lunch. Depending on when I take it relative to the hearburn starting, it stops it before it starts or makes it stop. It does take awhile to start working, so it's not a quick fix.

I usually take Prilosec for it, but I knew that was a no-no when I got pregnant three months ago. I was taking 10-15 Tums per day to try to control the heartburn, until my doctor said it was okay for me to try Zantac. I take one Zantac every 12 hours and haven't had any heartburn at all. What a blessing - I don't know if I could make it the remaining 6 months without it!

Even if I didn't take the tablet before eating, taking it a little while afterward also works. I've taken similar products like this, even prescription products, and this works just as well -- if not better than some. And it keeps working for hours. I'd recommend this product to a friend. I was really surprised at the effectiveness and the potency of Zantac, as prior to this, I was using a homeopathic treatment for the identical symptoms. I was quite satisfied with the results of my Test Drive. Zantac is easier to swallow (these pills are quite tiny) and seems to do an all around better job of settling my stomach before any overindulgence. I'll buy these again in the future!

Zantac works great on an average case of indigestion but doesn't seem as effective on a major problem. I tested the product on numerous items that I knew I've experienced problems with. The only real problem was with Mexican food. The Zantac was not as effective as Mylanta or Tums for that. If taken on a regular basis, Zantac is highly effective.
