Ivory is Okay. Not a bad ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 3/19/08 Ivory is Okay. Not a bad soap. The smell doesn't get to me like the smell of many other soaps. It is just a clean smell. Nothing Special. The same smell for many years. It has no moisturizing abilities in it. I use this sometimes if I want a really good clean.

I HAVE AN IMMUNE SYSTEM PROBLEM AND AM EXTREMELY SENSITIVE TO ALMOST EVERY SOAP THERE IS (I HAVE LITERALLY TRIED OVER 100 BRANDS!). THE ONLY IVORY THAT I CAN USE IS THE ORIGINAL. I ALSO USE ORIGINAL BASIS SOAP. IVORY IS DRYING, BUT I BALANCE IT OUT WITH UNSCENTED LOTIONS. ALSO, IT WOULD BE NICE IF IVORY COULD FORMULATE A LOTION THAT IS UNSCENTED.

I always go back to Ivory, and people tell me I look 10 years younger than I really am. Sometimes simple is best!

I clean my hair garments with it (scarves, wraps, etc), intimate wear, my daughter's hair with it, and it's good for clearing up skin discolorations (gradually with regular use). The lavender flavor is also good and gets you relaxed. But nothing tops aloe for me. The smell is great also. Very refreshing. I'm super sensitive so fragrances and colorings irritate my skin badly. I used to use Dove and Caress but they began to bother me so I went for the Ivory (plain)a few years ago and haven't looked back. I can clean without worry of rash, stingy, burning nose, or welts all over me. The bad thing about this is that it melts too fast.

It reminds me of citronella candles, which I certainly don't want to smell like after a shower. I would probably try the new scented varieties, but I won't be purchasing the white bars again.

It strips your skin of everything which is really good if you have oily skin, but anything in between-- forget it. It will enhance any wrinkles you have and you'll be slapping on the Vaseline afterward. Yes, its THAT drying. Although it cleans well, it did nothing for my son's acne either, instead it made it worse. It is definitely not mild. Strangely enough though, the Aloe version is.

I really wanted to like ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 8/1/06 I really wanted to like Ivory soap because it's one of those tried-and-true classics that's been around forever. However, I found it to be very drying. I don't have sensitive or dry skin, but it felt very stripped after using this soap. If you're looking for a nice, non-drying soap that truly is natural, I recommend Tom's of Maine instead.

It's excellent for hand-laundering laces and delicates. Also great for general home cleaning. Great for safely cleaning smudges off walls and woodwork. Great camping soap, it floats and you can wash dishes with it in a pinch.

I just started to use not too long ago and I can see that is a product is one I will continue to use, and I LOVE the ivory ALOE, Love it!!! For my skin, this is what I've been looking for.

Wish I'd tried it years ago! My skin hasn't looked or felt this good in a long time. I use it twice a day. Ivory leaves my skin feeling clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!

This soap does feel like ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 10/8/05 This soap does feel like it cleans your skin well, but it only irritated my sensitive eczema prone skin after I stepped out of the shower. The price is wonderful, but I only can rely on Dove Sensitive Skin or Unscented bar.

The packaging has changed ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 9/23/05 The packaging has changed many times over the years but this is still the same wonderful Ivory soap. I grew up with this and is the only soap my sister can use (since she's allergic to every thing else). When we were kids my mom even used it to shampoo our hair. That snowy color, the clean scent - Aaaaah! I hope they never stop manufacturing it.

Simple is the best. It ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 7/28/05 Simple is the best. It has no other specialties except cleaning your skin. No extra fancy unnecessary ingredients. No fragrance, no dye. If you have slightly oily, combination skin and are prone to acne or tend to be sensitive, this soap is ideal for all over your body. My mom has been using it for more than 10 years. I just started to realize how good this product is since I started using it a few years after my mom. I should have discovered this earlier! So I wouldn't have to spend that much money! This products price is lovely too. No wonder it's such an old brand. Just because it's simple!
