I did not expect a Neutrogena product to sting my face so much. I have very sensitive skin, and that is why I purchased this. Would not recommend.

I have allergies to fragrances. I have used this product for many years and have never had a reaction to it. I have trouble with hives and rashes, and not many sunblock products have the simple ingredients that this one has. It is effective and doesn't have any excess chemicals to bake into your skin.

BUYER BEWARE! I have very pale skin, allergies and will get an occasional flare up of eczema on my legs. Recently I was getting little bumpy break outs on my face from greasy sunscreen. A coworker had this product. I put a light coating on my face & within a few hours my face felt irritated. After work I noticed that my face was getting hot, red & blotchy. I rinsed my face very well, because I realized I was having a reaction to this hypoallergenic sunblock. When I woke up the next morning, to my horror my face looked like a giant red tomato. My eyes were nearly swollen shut-so bad I couldn't get my contacts in! Despite taking antihistamines, icing & rinsing with cold water it took about 3 days for my disfigurement to go away. I missed work because I didn't even look like myself I was so swollen. I knew it was the sunscreen which caused this reaction because I did a skin patch test on my leg with the same horrifying results!

I am allergic to ALL sunscreens, and most fragrances (my dermatologist is still working with me to find one). Meanwhile it is a trick to find one that my husband can wear and not break me out or set off my sinuses. This one has the lowest fragrance I have found, and the first that hasn't set me off with him wearing it. It also didn't break me out from just touching him, like most do. I only gave it four stars because it did let him get a bit darker/more red than the screens that have more than one active ingredient (but he didn't burn).

I have very sensitive skin on my face and only recently discovered the difference between physical and chemical sunscreens (after years of suffering from stinging eye areas after swimming!!!). This product NEVER stings my skin no matter what I do, but the reason I am not giving it a 5 is because the white film it leaves on your face is unbecoming and annoying. If they could reformulate it to fix this problem I would be in heaven. I don't know of any other sunscreens like this that only use titanium dioxide, which is what I prefer. I'll keep buying this I guess, but will continue to find one that doesn't give you ghost face!!

I have very sensitive skin that burns easily. I also have mild rosacea and sunscreens make my face break out. My dermatologist recommended this sunscreen and it is the only one that I have never had any problems with and I have been using it for years. I apply it every morning, summer or winter, on my face and neck. I agree with the other reviews that it does not look good so I wear a liquid makeup over this product. I have tried quite a few different brands and have found that Revlon's New Complexion liquid makeup looks the best, maybe because it does not contain an additional sunscreen.

This sunblock is great if you have fair, sensitive skin. Yes, the titanium dioxide in it gives you a white cast, but it soaks in to some degree and becomes more transparent after about 15 minutes. If your skin is fair, the white cast is not very obvious, and it just looks like you have a nice, even-toned complexion. Put a little gel bronzer over it here and there, and it's quite a nice look. If your complexion is other than fair, skip this product altogether, or consider mixing it with a little foundation or bronzer to warm up the tone. Also, it's a very mild, soft lotion that is very soothing to the skin... it will never irritate you. You can also use it around your eyes with no problems. I am very breakout-prone, and this has never clogged my pores. It's not waterproof, so I would not recommend it for sports, or jogging. But for everyday activities in sunny weather, it is a comforting sunblock to have around. I recommend it to everyone with a fair complexion.

This is a wonderful product that really offers true sun protection. I use it because the active ingredient is Titanium Dioxide, which is the only thing my dermatologist says really protects against the sun for a long period of time. In order to avoid the "Kabuki Effect" other reviewers have mentioned here, I mix 70:30 with my moisturizer. Works like a charm! I have sensitive/breakout-prone skin and find most sunblocks to be too greasy. Like most reviewers I found this sunblock to cast a white tint no matter how well I attempted to rub it in. For a 30 SPF sunblock it didn't perform very well, as I had sunburn after being outdoors for only 2 hours. To top it off, it made my face break out. The only positive things about this sunblock are that it isn't at all greasy, even after wearing it all day, and there is no fragrance, hence the one star.

I love it. It's the first sunscreen that does not have the characteristic suncreen smell that I hate. To avoid looking like you have clown make-up on, you have to apply only as much as your skin can absorb. Re-apply after a few minutes if necessary. I apply a drop of it at a time on my face. I rub it down really well on one part of my face, and then apply another drop on another part until I finish my face. You cannot just goop it on and spread it out like regular sunscreen, or else it will look like you just had kabuki makeup put on.
