so i'm a salon girl, but upon becoming pregnant with my second child had to try and curb spending, so i decided to try this at home wax kit. i baught this brand because as a young teen used this brand for waxing other areas. well needless to say i was terribly dissapointed!! first, it took FOREVER to heat, once it finially did heat up, i tried to was my eyebrows, and upper lip, the wax is terribly stringy, and ended up in places it didnt need to be. so after a strip of my eyebrow being waxed off..... yeah, i was none too pleased. so i switched to a different brand that i purchased at a professional beauty supply store.... now i have great eyebrows!!

So happy I found this stuff!

I thought it would take a lot longer to melt but it was maybe 35 seconds and ready to go. And it worked the first time. Went on easy but you have to be careful

A tip: Put some talcum powder on skin before the wax, it helps it come off easier. It works great on my soft blonde hairs and the coarser black ones that pop out in between on my chin and upper lip. Those of you in mid life know what I mean.

Well the positives are that my lip wasn't red and it was easy to remove. It's not sticky and it peels off amazingly well. The down side is that it didn't remove the hair. It also takes a lot longer to heat in the microwave than the directions said and it sets back up pretty quickly so you have to work fast.

I have been an on/off wax user- I used to get it done, but after having my skin ripped over and over at most of the places I went, I started to use hair removal creams. This is the second product I have bought and tried - it is the FIRST product that worked. I watched a lot of youtube videos on how to wax your upper lip yourself- trust me those are helpful. I am amazed how quickly it worked and how well. I did have a slight issue with getting some of the wax off, but I choke that up to me being a first time user. Next time, I'll be more prepared.

I think this wax is a great value. I had been using the Sally Hansen wax strips for my eyebrows and I didn't know what I was missing until I tried Surgi Wax. As another reviewer said, the key to avoid the mess is to apply a thinner layer of the wax. If your application is too thick, the wax will come apart like goo when you try to rip it off.

I swear this is the only product that does the job right! But there are couple of tricks with this stuff -- I have a 1000 watt microwave, and I have to go a little longer than suggested to get it to melt, but keep in mind, microwaves cook from the inside out, so even if it doesn't look like it's melted, if you stab through the wax, it's too hot on the bottom. Mix the "hot" and the "not" together, and voila-- perfect temp. It used to make me break out a bit too, but if you wash your face with a good cleanser, it will not only remove residue, but will make a break-out less likely. I find this stuff better than salon grade, and I've been waxing for 15 years.

Warm Surgi-Wax in microwave, apply to skin, wait a few seconds and remove.

Warm wax in microwave
Dip spatula into wax and apply to desired area
Leave on a few seconds until wax is pliable
Lift off wax in opposite direction of hair growth.

Hints: If you have sensitive skin, rub an ice cube over the area first to numb it a bit. Before you wax, apply a light dusting of powder to help wax grip. Immediately after removing wax, apply gentle pressure to soothe skin.
