After using regular bandaid pads, I found that, even after 4 days of careful care, that air wasn't getting to the sore to promote healing. However, there had to be something over the wound so the skin wouldn't rub and reopen. At [...]', I found this adhesive pad and gave it a try. What a superb product! It kept the blister area protected from rubbing and also promoted healing by allowing air to pass through to the damaged skin. I was even able to return to my sport with this compress in place - no pain. Now, even my teammates are interested! The adhesive worked even while I was exercising and sweating a lot! It didn't come off while showering, either.

These amazing adhesive ... by Kelly in Falls Church, VA on 5/29/08 These amazing adhesive pads are used by motorcycle riders for road rash (sometimes called road burn). I have used them on bad scrapes and cuts. They act like second skin to minimize scarring and prevent infection. A white bubbly substance sometimes forms around the wound (under the pad), but this is a good thing. The pads use Compeed and can be worn in the shower. I recommend them highly!

I put the pad over my wound and immediately the pain lessened. Like other people mentioned, I changed it after 24 hours because the pad was puffed up with fluid, but am really happy so far. It is discreet and stays on despite being on my elbow. This is a great new product!

I am an above-the-knee ... by Cheryl in Durham, CA on 9/25/06 I am an above-the-knee amputee, and when I get a blister or crack on my stump this pads work wonders. They take the soreness away and make healing faster. I wear a gel liner over my stump and then the hard socket over that, so healing conditions are greatly compromised. Sweating is a common problem, but the pads never come off.

An excellent product for ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 9/1/05 An excellent product for burns! I used this on a rather large burn on my arm 6 months ago. The second I put it on the pain was gone and I did not have to worry about infection. The burn healed within two weeks and disappeared completely within 6 months. It didn't even leave a scar or a nasty brown mark.

I slipped and slammed my ... by runajam1 in Undisclosed on 1/8/05 I slipped and slammed my cheek into the edge of my car door. I had a one and a quarter inch gash right on my face. It was bleeding profusely. I put on the Band-Aid advanced Healing Pad within 30 minutes of my injury. I did not want stitches in my face. The doctor concurred, and he told me to put on regular band aids to act as a buttery fly to close and cover the wound. I told him about this product and he recommended against it. I put it on anyway ignoring his advice. I changed it twice in the first two days. I wore this product for ten days uninterrupted. I could see the discolored wound through the bandage. When I peeled the bandage off, all of the discoloration went with it. The wound did not discolor or scar! At all! All of my anxiety about my facial wound went off with that strip. Miracle.

I was advised my ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 12/15/04 I was advised my dermatologist to keep a bandage over an excised area, and then allow it to scab over, and then to simply expect a red scar. I tried this for two weeks but found that the healing was slow-going and more painful than I was willing to deal with. So, like the other reviewers, applied an Advanced Healing pad and noticed that (if you follow the directions, warm it up in your hands) it adheres very well (even in a joint area, and in the shower) and goes to work immediately. They are meant to stay on for a couple days at a time, but do need to be changed more frequently in the first two days when the "cushion" area tends to fill up quite a bit. Noticed a marked difference after the first 24 hours. Smaller wound, much less redness. Best of luck in healing!

After skinning my knee, ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 5/24/04 After skinning my knee, as an adult, I dreaded scarring. I applied the pad, and the ooze from a draining wound overwhelmed the bandage quickly. However, after continuing to reapply a new bandage once a day the first 2 days, and then every 3-4 days thereafter, the pads worked a miracle! It doesn't hurt any, and you can see your new skin cells forming. Also, it doesn't stick to or lift the tissue, like a dry bandage. I'm African-American, and have very dark scarring skin. No scar ever formed, I can't tell that I skinned my knee at all.

This product is the best ... by carol in Undisclosed on 4/11/04 This product is the best for healing. When used over a non-draining clean wound, this product aids in the healing process by keeping the wound clean. This is the closest to products that I have used in the hospital and in home care with the same great results. Although this product does not advertise for use on burns, I have used it on family members with 1st-2nd degree burns with great success in keeping the skin intact, the pain minimal, and infection nill. Thank you for providing a great product such as this to the general public. I will never be without it as a vital part of my home first aid kit.

12 days after a ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 10/30/03 12 days after a hysterectomy I went to the doctor because I was unhappy with the way my scar was looking. The doctor told me just to keep clean and cover with tape or a kotex. I really wasn't happy with that, so I stopped at a drugstore and purchased the healing adhesive pads. Three were able to cover the length of my incision. I did have to have some one help me put them on they are a little hard to handle and I wanted them to lay as flat as possible to minimize my scarring. After three days I removed the pads the incision area looked clean and very soft, I know this would not be the case if I just covered with tape! I am very pleased with the results; it also helped with some of the discomfort I was feeling. The cushion pad acted as kind of a buffer and the area was not as sensitive.
