Hair must be really wet. I usually need two latherings both for thorough cleansing and to thoroughly spread around the built-in natural conditioner. Leaves a nice shine and fluffy hair. No irritation even with daily or even twice daily use such as after the beach or other extreme conditions. Works fine in an outdoor public beach shower. When the bar is almost gone and is too gooey to handle, I just dissolve in a squeeze bottle of water to make "regular shampoo". Smells nice too. I try to keep a chemical free lifestyle and this is perfect. I used to need tons of conditioner of dubious composition but now I can skip that step.

Left my hair feeling like it had a waxy or thick greasy buildup that I couldn't rinse out, especially with continuous use. It might be okay alternating with another shampoo, I'm still looking for a non SLS shampoo that works for me!

I lovvvve bringing this to the pool with me in the summer. Its easy to throw in my bag, and the smell and tingle is really refreshing. It lasts really long considering i still have it from last summer and me and all my friends used it almost everyday. Its not too drying, but it effectively washes chlorine from hair. Will DEFINITELY buy again.

This is the only bar i use on my face. I can never find it in the sote, i order big batches of it from drugstore.com because anything else i try will inevitably disturb the delicate balance of my combination and sometimes cystic acne prone skin. I have to be careful because everything i try leaves clogging residue, overdires, or doesn't take the grease off well ebough. except this bar. for some reason it is the PERFECT grease and dirt remover without overdrying my skin. i love it...................now, as a shampoo bar i hate it. when i tried it on my long, thin, processed hair that is prone to frizzies the results were AWFUL. It dried it out and felt like some waxy weird residue was left behind. my hair felt horrible for over a week after i used this once. It seems like some love it & some hate it. i guess you have to try for yourself to see. for me it was no good.

I find this is very good for all over body use also. Does not dry skin and leaves you fealing clean. A very good product.

Bought this as a gift for my elderly dad who requested more because he loved it so much and bought it for my husband who travels frequently and he loves it too. Great unisex smell and gentle on hair.

Can also be used for bath soap

This was the product that made me give up on Burt's Bees haircare altogether. It smelled nice and lathered well, but my hair did not like it at all. It left this really odd residue on my hair that just made it feel like it was even dirtier than before I washed it. I haven't had that problem with a shampoo bar before or since. I tried giving it a fair try, but I had to give up on it after about a week, because my hair just felt gross.

I have used nearly a dozen different brands and formulations of shampoo bars, and this one was the absolute worst - though I love Burt's otherwise! This bar left my hair such a sticky and straw-like mess no matter what I tried. I would not recommend this bar for anything longer than a crew cut.

I really wanted to like this product, but it was just too drying. I have medium length oily hair, but after 3 or 4 days of using this it was dry as a stick ready to burn. I stored this on a small shelf outside the tub; if you didn't have somewhere dry to keep it that could be a problem. Lathered well and would be good for travel or very short hair.
