Not very durable by Rachel in Mississippi on 8/27/08 Pros: Easy to Use, Environmentally friendly Cons: Tears easily Bottom Line: not recommended I buy a lot of Seventh Generation products to use around the house because I like that the company is socially responsible, but I have to say these bags are pretty weak. When the trash can was full and we'd go to pull the bag out, it ripped most of the time. Or if there was something with a sharp edge in the bag it would tear through the plastic pretty easily. I will still use other Seventh Generation products, but I'm definitely going to search for another brand of trash bag.

A decent option for recycled trash bags by April in Oklahoma City, OK on 7/25/08 I've had no problems with these bags, but I would note that I do not put large or heavy items in my kitchen wastebasket, and I am careful not to overfill them. Sometimes I do have trouble getting these to stretch over my wastebasket, even though it is a pretty standard size. It seems there aren't many recycled trash bags on the market. Glad's recycled bags have disappeared from the stores in my area and are no longer on their website, so it appears that they may be discontinued. Among the limited options available, the Seventh Generation bags are as good as any.

And often you can't find the slots the pull-ties come out of without examining every inch of the top. They are simply not well made. I use a lot of 7th Generation but I will never buy another box of these. They're just shoddy.

This product works for ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 5/6/08 This product works for me. They are no thinner than your ordinary tall kitchen bags and I havent had one break or tear on me yet. And I like the fact that I'm helping the environment. I will purchase these again. Also the price is no more than what I used to buy.

I like these bags and ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 3/27/08 I like these bags and haven't had them rip on me, but sometimes I get one that oddly enough the yellow handles aren't exposed and I have to tear into the edge and dig the handle out.

I use and love so many ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 2/26/08 I use and love so many Seventh Generation products, but these bags are AWFUL. Half the time they rip before you've even gotten them in place. You end up using so many more, which in my mind defeats the purpose.

These bags are very thin ... by Celia P in Layton, UT on 1/12/08 These bags are very thin and do tear very easily; however, I have to be honest and say that not ONCE has this bag ripped and made a mess or even leaked. They rip at the top wear I snap my lid on the trash can. I'd give these 5 stars, but I would like them to be a bit thicker (even though they've never failed) because I like the "sense" of security. I do like buying environmentally friendly products, so I will continue to buy these.

You can't really fill them to the top, though, because of the ripping. So you have to use more bags, which seems to kind of defeat the purpose. I'd give them 2.5 stars if I could--they're not horrible, but not great either. I love most of Seventh Generation's other products, but my husband got so irritated with the bags ripping that he's asked me not to buy these anymore. We're going to try the Glad bags...only 10% post-consumer recycled but that's better than nothing and maybe they work better...

I've used these bags for ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 12/24/07 I've used these bags for years, but am finally giving them up. I suppose these bags are designed to come apart easily, but that should wait till after they've been sent to a landfill. I'm really careful with these bags and usually take out the trash for odor control, not due to volume, but I've finally gotten tired of having these bags rip on me. In the last few weeks, I've often had to double-bag my kitchen garbage and still the bags ripped. Replacing the "drawstrings" with handle-ties might help with the drawstrings ripping, but the company hasn't offered a handle-tie style yet. Unless I can think of "light" uses for these bags, they're being replaced with stronger, cheaper Glad handle-tie bags.

I give these bags three ... by Susan H in Livingston, NJ on 12/22/07 I give these bags three stars because I believe in recycling. However, like many of the other reviews I have found them to rip quite easily. In all fairness, we have a wide garbage can and they do not stretch far enough to fit, which causes some of the tears. I continued to buy them, however, I think it might be time to switch, until they can improve the design.

Overall these bags were ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 11/13/07 Overall these bags were pretty good; the plastic is a little thin and did rip a little, but only around the drawstring. I have a Simple Human trash can in my kitchen that says it will fit 13 gallon bags and it does however these were a very tight fit. I ended up buying different bags for my kitchen trash and use these for other things. I would buy them again to have on hand, plus the price is good too.

I give these bags 3 stars ... by Anonymous in Undisclosed on 9/11/07 I give these bags 3 stars because I love the idea of using recycled plastic and will continue to give them a try. But we have encountered the same problems others have reported - torn bags. Nothing major, just many dime size holes in the bag that we notice after removing it from our trash can to take out. So far the tie sting has stayed intact. Altogether it's not enough to make me stop using them. Be careful not to overstuff or place large or odd shaped items like pizza boxes in these bags.
