Bottom Line: recommended

I dont always break out ,, but when I do I want them to go away quickly. This worked for that. I also have my 17 yr old son use it. It is just as affective on him. I have spent alot of money on products that have dissapointed me. Including Proactive.

Bottom Line: not recommended

I successfully used the product (Neutrogena Clear Pore Treatment) that this product replaced, for ten years, without ever experiencing any problems. However, Neutrogena added a strong fragrance to this new Rapid Clear Acne Defense lotion. I've tried to use it for several weeks but developed a pink mask-like rash on my face in the areas where I've applied it. I have never had any problems with any other Salicylic acid acne product before, though I was always careful to avoid products that contain fragrances. Neutrogena offers fragrance-free versions of their soaps, so they must be aware of this problem that many of their customers face. I wish that they would sell their Clear Pore Treatment again, or offer a fragrance-free version of this product. It does control my acne as effectively as the previous product, but I've had to discontinue its use due to the irritation.

I love to use this product as a night lotion. It does not cause me to break out, and I do notice a difference in redness and pimple size when I wake up in the morning. It also does the job on pimples without drying out my skin or clogging pores (I guess I would have to say I have normal-oily skin in the T-zone). I wouldn't use this as a day lotion though since it does not have SPF in it.

This product is okay. I thought this would really get rid of acne or any pimples on your face. I have minor to no acne but I still have some so I bought this and it didn't do anything. The only thing kind of good this product did was make my face soft. I think it smells okay and its kind of good for the face as a lotion so that is why I gave it 3 stars.

Wow Im surprised this has gotten such good reviews. Where I live the water has a lot of chlorine and dries out my skin badly. So I was looking for a face lotion that wouldnt leave my face feeling covered in oil. So I thought what better product than an acne defense one? Firstly, Im surprised no one has complained about how expensive this is for this tiny tube! Normal face washes or lotions last me 8 months and cost less! It seemed to help on the moisturizing part. The acne part is different. I started using it a week before I got really stressed out. This did NOTHING to stop my forehead from breaking out and its doing NOTHING to help them go away. So if you want to spend money on a face lotion that probably won't last a month with daily use and that doesn't help prevent or reduce acne go ahead. But thats just my experience.

THIS STUFF ROCKS. I had minor acne on my dcollet (above the chest) area that I could not get rid of -- the dermatologist was stumped and the Clindomycin foam he prescribed didn't work. I tried scrubs, masks, every product that's out there, even prescription level. Anyway I was skeptical about this but desperate, but after a few days the acne was visibly improved, and now it has GONE AWAY completely. The pads are great too, now I only use the lotion to control future breakouts and don't need the pads. I also had a few zits break out on my face last week and the lotion DEFINITELY reduced their size immediately and is making them go away. I am amazed. You have GOT TO GET THIS. By the way, I have combination skin, mostly oily but dry in some areas. I even used it on my back only ONCE (with the pads too) and it has remained less oily. It is so inexpensive, it's worth a try. I am buying this for my friends and sister too. I am THRILLED with this product!!!

This review is based on my personal experience. This product does not dry out your skin, that's why I bought it. It keeps it moisturized, but it didn't do anything for my mild acne. My face is such that I have occasional red zits but more often I have zits that aren't red and just needed a simple squeezing (and a little hard yellow thing would come out). However, after using this product my barely noticeable zits that would release a hard little ball are now puffed up and when I squeeze it, it releases a bunch of mushy white gunk. Nasty business and it actually increased the number of zits I had. This is after about 3 weeks of use. I have since discontinued use, and have opted for the skin-drying effects of benzoyl peroxide, instead of this "moisturizing acne treatment". I'd rather have clear dried out skin than moisturized skin with acne. But apparently I am the exception based on the rest of the reviews here.

This is an awesome product. I was skeptical because I hadn't had much luck with Neutrogena products in the past. This product is the answer I was looking for, after 2-3 days of using it, breakout stopped totally and it halted a breakout from happening. BUY THIS Product!!I use twice a day, once in the am then in the pm and it works great!

Excellent lotion! Will keep your skin clear and add a little moisture. After using the skin care products recommended by Neutrogena, blemishes have cleared up and my skin feels and looks smooth and clear. I will definitely buy this product again.

I found this product; it really took the red out of my acne. It smells better than most acne face wash and I liked that it was a lotion. Easy enough to use and didn't dry out my skin. It takes a couple applications to notice a difference, but after about 3 uses, I found my acne disappearing. I will buy this product in the future.
