Directions

Outline lips with lip liner of you choice about 1/4 inches from the outside of your lips toward the center. Then use a lip brush to blend the salve to achieve a "pouty look". Use Rosebud Salve alone or over your favorite hue of lipstick to moisturize and give a "dewy effect".  Apply Rosebud Salve to eyebrows to tame an unruly brow line while also giving sheen.  Rosebud Salve is great on fly-away or frizzy hair. Dab a small amount on the palms of your hands and apply sparingly to tresses.  Use Rosebud Salve as a subtle accent to cheek bones, collar bones, shoulders, or any other body part that you want to moisturize or enhance.  Apply rosebud Salve lightly to the skin above the eye as a base for powered eye shadow, and then add the desired colors you wish to dazzle your eyes with. The rich emollient properties of the Salve will help to hold that look all day.

It's mostly scented Vaseline. That's not a bad thing, because it does smell nice and is fun to use. But it's nothing special. I think it's worth the [$] because the tin lasts forever and its easier to tote around than a jar of Vaseline, if you want to compare it that way, and it's fun and smells good, but as far quality and the product itself, it's only okay.

I had this balm a year ... by Candice in Newington, CT on 5/16/08 I had this balm a year ago and it works pretty well. The smell is pretty decent and it's very moisturizing. I have very chapped lips so no matter what product I use on my lips, they will crack and get chapped no matter what. But it's something I have to just deal with so my sister had gotten me this lip product and it's pretty good! It keeps my lips non-chapped for sometime BUT its so greasy! My fingers are so slippery and I seriously have to wipe my hands on something to get the grease off. Also I HATE that it comes in a tin! Its hard as hell to open and you have to find so many alternatives to get it open! I rather have it in a tube or something.

But it kind of works like Vaseline- coats lips and prevents moisture-loss. Because it doesn't really get absorbed, it only slightly softens dry lips. I'd probably use this more if it were in a tube. After a while, dipping in the pot is just messy and to lazy me- not worth the trouble for its benefits. Trying Aveeno lotion for my dry lips next. But as far as pot-balms go, I like this.

After less than a week's use, my lips were softer and looked better. The vintage looking tin is decorated with... what else? Roses, and is rather pretty. I will definitely always keep a tin on hand.

You can use it on dry skin anywhere on your body, as an eye makeup remover, on blemishes, and of course as a great lip balm. Nice light rose scent and pretty color. One tin lasts forever, too.

The product is good... ... by Stephanie in Berkeley, CA on 3/26/08 The product is good... wish it had sunscreen in it (for lips) so I could wear it more often. I would not recommend this product as it is packaged (in a small tin) for people who have weak hands, arthritis, wrist or repetitive injuries, etc. Sometimes it is easy to open and sometimes it isn't, and I have a very strong grip. Also, someone with average to large size hands (or thick fingers) may have trouble opening this tin or getting a good grip on it to open it.

A little goes a long way, and the scent is light, not overpowering. My kids will let me use it on their lips and hands because it does not sting, and no strong smell or taste! My tins have opened easily with small twist and lift motion.

I have tried the other flavors and they are waxier-- not as smooth. Don't leave Rosebud in the hot car during the summer!
