I was taking a prescription prenatal when I was pregnant with and breastfeeding my daughter. When I switched insurance, I found that it was not on the formulary, so I started taking these when my husband and I were trying to prepare for the next baby. I have to say that I agree that the pills are relatively large, and probably a tad difficult to swallow if you're not used to taking multivitamins. My prescription vitamin was a soft gel and much easier to swallow, so switching to these wasn't very pleasant. But overall, I've had no problems taking these. I do get queasy, but it's probably from the pregnancy vs. the vitamin (wasn't queasy before becoming pregnant). My advice for those thinking of switching to another brand is to make sure to compare the amount of nutrients you're getting. You may find that other vitamins do not equal the amount of nutrients you're getting with Rainbow. (Because of my nausea, I probably haven't been eating the most well-rounded meals, so knowing I'm getting more than 100% of some nutrients makes me feel better). And many other brands don't have the added benefit of digestive supporting ingredients as this one does. Oh, and BTW, that bright yellow urine is usually from the Riboflavin (Vit B2). Of course, when in doubt, check with your doctor.

We are planning on trying to start trying to conceive in a few months so I started taking Prenatal vitamins a few months ago. I switched over to these Prenatal One vitamins and they gave me the worst gas ever....so embarrassing. I really wanted to like these. Its definitely the vitamins causing the issue because I stopped taking them for 2 days and didn't have any issues then started taking them again and within a few hours the horrible gas was back...I kept on them for another 2 days with issues and then stopped again and Im relieved of the issue. I don't see many other complaints about gas and constipation but for me it was unbearable. These are going in the trash and Im going to try out another brand.

Comments about Rainbow Light Prenatal One Multivitamin, Tablets, 90 ea:

Have been taking this product since the first trimester, when I had extreme nausea as a result of hormones, not vitamin. This vitamin did not exacerbate my morning sickness. I'm now 37 weeks and have not had any issues at all taking this. I make sure to always take it with food, usually at meal time and space it out an hour apart if I have a morning coffee.

It's easy to swallow with a full glass of water and goes down easier with one end of the pill facing toward throat either near the back or middle of tongue. I feel good knowing this is food based and probably breaks down faster, absorbs better in the stomach than other types of synthetic pills I've taken in the past.

Costs more than many other prenatal brands but is made with quality ingredients. Totally worth it.

Comments about Rainbow Light Prenatal One Multivitamin, Tablets, 90 ea:

I tried different brands of whole food prenatals before settling on this one and with all others my stomach was upset 90% of the day. Early pregnancy brought on a lot of gas, bloating, and fullness. I could feel that my digestive system was absolutely slower. With other brands you have to take 3 or 4 pills a day and with my system already at a standstill, it was not pleasant. The fact that Rainbow Lights are one a day frees me up to process things like food! I also feel a boost in energy after taking my vitamin. Only caution is eating a full meal or having a full stomach before swallowing the vitamin because I vomited after taking this on an empty stomach. With a meal, I'm fine.

I have been using this product since 2009 when my husband and I first started TTC. It was recommended by trusted friends and my midwife. I am now 36 weeks pregnant with baby #2 and will continue to use these vitamins as I breastfeed. I have had 2 very healthy pregnancy (so far!)

Comments about Rainbow Light Prenatal One Multivitamin, Tablets, 90 ea:

I have been taking these for several months per doctor recommendation since TTC. At first I tried taking a whole one each morning, and had waves of heartburn and nausea afterward. Now I take half with breakfast and half before bed. No stomach problems whatsoever. Vitamins seem to be effective as I have clear skin and good energy levels while taking them, and definitely notice a difference if I don't take them.

Comments about Rainbow Light Prenatal One Multivitamin, Tablets, 90 ea:

I actually bought this at [...] for [$] a bottle. They weren't expired either, so I don't know how they were so cheap at [...] but not online. I'm not pregnant or trying for a baby, but I was always told prenatal vitamins would make my hair and nails grow faster. I have a hard time finding vegetarian safe vitamins because I don't want gelatin or fish in the vitamins. These caught my attention because I read they didn't contain animal bi-products or fish in the pills. I was actually shocked about that, because it's rare to find vegetarian safe prenatal vitamins. These in fact did make my hair grow a lot faster and thicker. My nails are prone to less breakage while taking these too. I also have a rather healthy diet, so that can contribute to healthy hair and nail growth. The best thing about these vitamins is they don't make you sick like other multivitamins do.

I'm surprised I've only seen one other review that talks about the digestive benefits of the probiotics in these vitamins. I've always had issues with regularity and was really concerned about the pregnancy making it worse. For the first time in a long time, I've been regular ever since! The only time I have issues is when I forget to take this vitamin (I'm still breastfeeding baby #2).

Prior to finding this multivitamin, I have never been consistent in taking multivitamins because of the flavor and digestive upset they caused me. This is the first and only multivitamin I've found that does not leave a "vitamin" flavor in my mouth, and lead to "vitamin" flavored burps throughout the day. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because although it is vegan, I am not sure what the "vegan guard" is made of, and have heard rumor it could be plastic! Also, as a pre and post natal vegetarian woman I find that in addition to this multivitamin, I need to also supplement my calcium, iron and B12.
