Chemical Name: RANITIDINE (ra-NIT-ti-deen)

Common uses for Ranitidine Hcl
Ranitidine Hcl 150mg is a histamine blocker used to treat and prevent ulcers. It is also used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Ranitidine Hcl 150mg may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Before using Ranitidine Hcl
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Ranitidine Hcl 150mg. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. DO NOT TAKE RANITIDINE HCL 150mg if you are taking dasatinib. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking anticoagulants (such as warfarin), azole antifungals (such as itraconazole or ketoconazole), certain benzodiazepines (such as midazolam, triazolam), certain HIV protease inhibitors (such as atazanavir), dasatinib, delavirdine, gefitinib, glipizide, or procainamide. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions including liver or kidney problems, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about taking Ranitidine Hcl 150mg.

Directions for Ranitidine Hcl
Follow the directions for using Ranitidine Hcl 150mg provided by your doctor. ANTACIDS MAY BE USED with Ranitidine Hcl 150mg unless directed otherwise by your doctor. STORE RANITIDINE HCL 150mg at room temperature, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF RANITIDINE HCL 150mg, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Cautions for Ranitidine Hcl
IF YOUR SYMPTOMS DO NOT IMPROVE or if they become worse, check with your doctor. DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to Ranitidine Hcl 150mg. Using Ranitidine Hcl 150mg alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol, may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN: RANITIDINE HCL 150mg IS EXCRETED IN BREAST MILK. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using Ranitidine Hcl 150mg, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible side effects of Ranitidine Hcl
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while using Ranitidine Hcl 150mg include constipation, diarrhea, headache, nausea, or stomach upset. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience change in the amount of urine produced; or fever, chills, or persistent sore throat. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience confusion; dark urine; depression; fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat; hallucinations; severe or persistent headache or stomach pain; unusual bruising or bleeding; or yellowing of the eyes or skin. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Ranitidine Hcl 150mg is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. If you take too much Ranitidine Hcl
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include difficulty breathing, fast heartbeat, tremors, vomiting, and restlessness.
