I prefer the extra width as it is easier on gums and fingers while covering a greater amount of tooth surface area than typical thin flosses. Typical thin flosses cut into my gums and fingers. To me, thin flosses are much more difficult to hold and negotiate. I have tried the wide, flat tapes, but they have unraveled on me and have proven to be weaker by breaking down into strands. Reach Dentotape is tough stuff and has proven itself to me in my checkups. If I had a preference, I would use a waxless variety because I've been told by dental staff that waxless tape/floss offers more friction to clean between teeth better than waxed tape. Until then, I'll keep reordering the waxed version. However, the dentotape didn't work for me. I'm not sure if it is just too thick or if it's the unusual wax (it's sticky) or a combination, but I can't even get it in-between many of my teeth. (And most of the others, I can't get it back out.) To be fair, the package does say this product is for people with wide-spaced teeth. And on my teeth that are widely spaced, it works fine. But if you're looking for something to glide between close-spaced teeth without shredding, this isn't it. REVIEWS Reviewed by 47 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-10 Previous | Next » Pros

Comments about Reach Dentotape Waxed Floss, Unflavored, 100 yd: I have used this floss for more than ten years. Over the years I have tried many other brands and kinds, but none are even remotely satisfactory compared to Reach Dentotape. Other brands fray easily, leaving micro-strands between my teeth. Reach Dentotape stays together and is strong enough to do a great job without fraying or breaking. It's advertised for people with large gaps between their teeth, but I find it's the only kind that works for someone like me with very little space between my teeth. My only complaint is that I can't find it in any stores anymore and have to order larger quantities online. Nothing else works for me. Can't imagine going anywhere without a daily supply. Pros

Comments about Reach Dentotape Waxed Floss, Unflavored, 100 yd: I can't find Dentotape at my local stores, only floss. Drugstore.com is the cheapest I've found this item. Great buy when coupled with free shipping offer.

Comments about Reach Dentotape Waxed Floss, Unflavored, 100 yd: Dental tape seems to hurt my gums less than floss. I like that this comes in 100 yards too. I just wish there was a no-brand alternative that would cost less. Also mint flavor would be nice. Pros

Comments about Reach Dentotape Waxed Floss, Unflavored, 100 yd: Dental "TAPE" seems to have disappeared from the shelves in the American market. [...] as well as the major grocery chains don't stock it any more. I finally discovered this source and bought 5 packages, a life-time supply. A week after it arrived, I discovered dental tape at a Texas supermarket: HEB. Aside from HEB, this seems to be the only source for dental tape. Pros

Comments about Reach Dentotape Waxed Floss, Unflavored, 100 yd: I have always used Dentotape instead of floss because floss is too thin & flimsy. The tape works best for me. I only use waxed. I guess it is a matter of personal perference, but I would choice Dentotape everytime! Pros
