These are the best eyeshadow brushes you can buy for the price. They beat out the competitions costing the same for just one brush. The bristles are so soft, they clean up easy and there's no shedding. They blend very well and deposit color adequately. I'll be buying more in the future.

These brushes are great if you like a very natural look, by which I mean a "not wearing any eyeshadow at all" look. The synthetic bristles are so slippery that they can't pick up product, and so even the most pigmented eyeshadows end up as a sheer, very uneven wash of color.

They might work for cream products better than for powder ones. I don't know. I gave up on the brow brush after using what must have been half a palette's worth of powder and seeing no discernible difference in my eyebrows whatsoever, and had to wipe my makeup off and start over after the base shadow brush and the deluxe brush made an ugly, patchy mess of a Stila shadow I've gotten to look great with ELF brushes before. I'd hoped that the little smudgy accent brush would be good for applying shadow as liner under the lower lashline, but as with the brow brush, I wasted a lot of product just trying to get any color to show up at all. Which it never did. I ended up having to use a different brush.

These brushes ARE decent--not great, but decent--at blending out shadows that have already been applied with better brushes, but that's about all they can do, and I gave them a star for that. But I'm really upset that I wasted my money on brushes that can't even get eye makeup onto my eyes.

I always thought it was suspect that Sam and Nic never use their own eyeshadow brushes in their tutorials. Now I know why.

I love Real Techniques brushes! All their face brushes I've tried are amazing so I definitely had to buy these since I was looking for something affordable that I knew would be of good quality. Let me tell you I am not disappointed at all. What I love the most is that they're purple, my favorite color! They also have very good handles which are ergonomic and really easy to use. The bristles are SOFT but sturdy, which means they really serve their purpose well. Other brands have really sturdy bristles that aren't soft so they tend to irritate my eyes, that's not a problem with these brushes. So far I haven't experienced any shedding which is a problem I had with other brushes as well. The person who left a negative review saying they "don't pick up color" must be using very cheap eyeshadows because all my eyeshadows are super pigmented and look just as good when I apply them with these brushes. If I want a more "natural" look I'll apply directly to my lid. If I want a longer lasting POP of color then I use a primer on my lids then pack the eyeshadows on top of that. But then again that's the same with any product, regardless of the brush. The eyebrow brush is definitely on the thicker side but it still works very well for my eyebrows which aren't super thin or super thick. I love this whole set!

Real techniques brushes get great reviews and they deserve it, I'm mostly giving it three start because I feel these should be sold individually, the quality is great, if you are a beginner go for it and also get the shading brush, if that was included here instead of the eyeliner or angled brush I would probably give it another star, since I think you have more uses for that brush than the angled brush in this set.
