Color doesn't fade as much between touch ups; hair doesn't feel dry or brittle. I ran out of this product for a week & used a cheap brand...was shocked when at my next appt, my stylist asked me what shampoo I'd been using because my hair felt 'coated' on the ends...Busted! So far it seems to be working well to preserve my red color. I happen to like the scent; I've read comments from other reviewers who don't like it. The only negative is that sometimes my hair seems a little flat the 2nd day. Ideally for me it's best used every day; I just prefer not to wash my hair that often. I would definitely recommend this shampoo for color treated hair.

My desire was finding a good cleaning shampoo but gentle on my color. Other shampoos I've used have cleaned well at the expense of the color or, if they were gentle, they didn't produce enough lather and I would have to add more. This seemed to be what I was looking for. Big lather but rinses well and quickly.
