I bought into the 1-Day hype and wound spending a lot of money for a product that did not do as promised. I've gone back to my trusted (but slower) standby, Lysine+ which I recommend.

Wonderful stuff. I've suffered outbreaks on my lips for 30 years, and this is the only thing that has really made a difference. I take L-lysine 1000mg daily too, to prevent outbreaks, and sometimes get lazy about this...bingo. Within 2 weeks of forgetting, out one comes. So, Releev has come to the rescue lately. It seems to dry up the blisters before they develop fully.

I've been getting cold sores for almost 30 years (started when I was about 15). This is the better than any prescription or other over-the-counter medication I've ever tried. I believe it is the only one that actually kills the virus (the only one I've used anyway) --- prescriptions may prevent the virus from inhibiting the immune system, which allows the virus remain active longer than would otherwise be possible (that's why it normally takes so long for these to go away) but do not kill the virus. In my experience, no cold sore in it's infancy (beginning sensation) has appeared upon application of Releev.

Funny, this gets either one or five stars, not much in between. It was a one or less for me. Didn't do anything. Abreva, Valtrex and Zovirax work really well for me, though.

Way overpriced, it does stop the itch and burn associated with a cold sore, but does not speed up the healing...certainly not in one day as advertised!!
Stick with Campho Phenique with drying action. This will shave off about three to four days of healing time. It is the only medicine I have found that really helps.

Might work for others, but not me -- in fact it made it much more noticeable -- I had it mostly under control with Lysine (you must use l-lysine at the very, very first tingle, with ice) but I was having stomach problems, so I didn't digest the Lysine properly and it started and no one noticed it until after I started using this stuff.
(Note, I'm not an MD -- just a Ph.d. in the humanities -- but try taking a ton of lysine at the very first tingle)

I get overwhelmingly bad cold sores, and I tried this product after day one. The sore was red but hadn't gotten huge or blistery yet, and after I used this product it never did! I highly recommend it, but I guess it doesn't work for everyone as much is it did for me. I'm just glad I found something that helps!

This did nothing for my cold sore - started on a Wednesday and went full bloom - put the medication on every day about 6 times a day!!!! Oh well, too good to be true.

I have tried all of the medications for cold sores and found Releev to be the best. Aleve is also good, but I found, left red marks that took a long time to go away. With Releev, the cold sores dried up with very little to no scabbing. The Camphor medicines are good as prevention, but don't work as well as Releev and Aleve once the cold sore has formed. Given the discomfort and embarrassment of cold sores, I would recommend Releev and say it's worth the price.
