Aleve is also good, but I found, left red marks that took a long time to go away. With Releev, the cold sores dried up with very little to no scabbing. The Camphor medicines are good as prevention, but don't work as well as Releev and Aleve once the cold sore has formed. Given the discomfort and embarrassment of cold sores, I would recommend Releev and say it's worth the price. I had a tingle and applied the medicine, and my cold sore still grew. I started using it the morning I felt the cold sore come on. It did help the first time I used it by taking away the burning and itching for about 5 minutes. I used it as directed and the cold sore still lasted for 5-6 days. I do not understand the "1 day cold sore treatment" that is on the package. What does it do in one day?
