I love this product because I have very thick wavy hair. It usually takes me about 30+ minutes to get my hair straight. With this straightener all I need is a heat protectant and about 15 minutes. I love how smooth it makes my hair. I'm not the type of person to write a review but I was very impressed with this straightener, especially for the cost.

I don't flat iron my hair all that often, and my old flat iron I've used for about 4 years...I decided to just go ahead and get a new one that wasn't high in price. I used it for the first time the other day after just letting my hair naturally dry (which isn't pretty), and it straightened it with no problem whatsoever, and just worked wonderfully!!!!!!!!

I bought this flatiron for my very curly haired daughter, as I have a high end iron of my own. Frankly there's little difference between the two. Although I agree that the button placement is awkward, the instructions clearly tell you to hold down the - button (temperature down) and it will lock the set temperature. Press it again to release the lock. This is a great flatiron for the price.

This straightener is great! I have long, thick and wavy hair so finding a straightener that works well is difficult. I have used a few top of the line tools, and they are nice...but time consuming and I often burned my hair and or hands while using them. The Remington does they job without burning my hand or scorching my hair plus I have my hair done in 10 minutes!!!! Mind you, I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my hair, typically the straightening process takes 30-45 min! WooHoo for this styling tool! I love it! Chances are you will too!

P.S. Some people were worried about the location of the buttons, you will find yourself thinking you have pressed them, but they are concave so you aren't actually pushing the button and changing the temp.

I use this to calm my frizzy hair.... works like a charm. Super fast heat-up. only downside is the placement of the buttons.

This is a very good iron, and i would be lying if I said it didn't give my hair shine when I used it. But there are two major reasons I don't like it. The biggest reason is the placement of the controls on this iron. The buttons controlling heat are placed right where I grip the iron, and every single time I use it, I end up pressing the buttons and changing the heat of the iron, or even worse, turning the iron off. That is a major design flaw that needs to be fixed on this iron to make it better. In addition to that, I noticed that plates give off a strange odor when they heat up, possibly from the oils in the plates. That is not as big of an issue as the button placement, but still annoying, since your hair does smell like the iron afterwards, and I have never experienced that issue with other irons I have used.

This replaced my daughter's chi and works just as well for half the price. We love the design! Just lock the buttons (as per the directions) so you don't change the temperature while using it.

This is a great flat iron. I usually buy the real chap ones ($10-15) and have not been happy at all. When I got this one, it was like night and day. It takes me 2 minutes to do my hair. It smooths out the frizz, straightens and lets me curl under the ends a little. Other reviewers are right. The controls are in an awkward place and I am continually pushing the buttons by accident. This said, it's still my favorite falt iron. If I lost or damaged it I would buy a new one just like it. Love it!

This hair straightener is a MUST buy. I previously had a Conair flat iron and it was awful, bulky, time consuming and gave me split ends. I just recently bought this straightener and love it! If I had to go back and do it again I would. This flat iron is inexpensive, durable, and always will come in handy for those "bad hair " days. This straightener has multiple settings, heats up fast and overall is just excellence.
