I train heavily in South Florida. It is coming on summer, the rains are drenching the area. Mosquitoes are rampant and out for blood. I was, earlier today(mid June rainy season), in a shaded heavily planted car port with a friend training in 88 degree weather and applied this product just to my ankle area(wore sweat pants) and where my short sleeve shirt met my bare arm. This is all i needed, as there were so many mosquitoes flying around us, knowing we were food, but they WOULD NOT touch us. I was ready to spray onto hands and use on face, but i never did. Didn' t need to.
We took breaks just to look down at our torsos and legs, 30 to 40 mosquitoes ready to eat, but they would not. It was like they dare not touch us. Lemony smell, i think better than Deet, they would not come near the skin. We were both blown away. It really is that good. A little goes a long way. One spray on arm and rubbed it around, that is all it took. I should have lost a cup of blood today to those vampires, and it is like we all co-existed peacefully. They must've been very frustrated to smell a meal but not dare come to feast. AAA+ for this product. This will take over the market, as Deet is something i am uncomfortable with, a necessary evil, until Lemon Eucalyptus. You will smell like lemon, and that is all you smell. They will NOT bite you with this product on you. We sweat like filthy pigs in this heat training outside, and the sweat seemed to have no affect on the product.
I cannot speak enough good of the quality and it is from a tree, like nature being used to repel nature. That works for me.

PREVIOUSLY, REPEL CONTAINED 40% LEMON EUCALYPTUS ACTIVE INGREDIENT, CURRENTLY THE BOTTLES CONTAIN ONLY 30%. THE EARLIER PRODUCTION BOTTLES HAD A VERY EFFECTIVE SPRAYER WITH A FLIP UP ARM TO STOP ANY LEAKAGE. CURRENTLY, REPEL HAS REPLACED THE EXCELLENT SPRAYER WITH A CHEAP VERSION THAT REQUIRES PRIMING BEFORE SPRAY IS EXITED AND A CHEAP CLEAR PLASTIC CAP WHICH IS EASILY KNOCKED OFF OR LOST. THIS PRODUCT IS CURRENTLY LESS EFFECTIVE AND CHEAPENED; THEREFORE, I AM RETURNING 6 OF THE UNUSED BOTTLES.

Comments about Repel Plant Based Lemon Eucalyptus Insect Repellent, 4 fl oz:

This product works great against mosquitoes!! Some feel the smell is a bit strong, but it is not a bad smell, and the benefits of using a safe product on my children that works far outweigh the fact that initially, when applied it is a little strong!! Highly recommend this product. Was so glad to find it as my bottles from a couple of years ago were empty!!

Yucky smell. Oily feel on skin. Bugs still biting like crazy. So now I am bug bitten, smelly and greasy. The spray container didn't work. Waste of time and money.

Repel is non-toxic to humans, has a strong odor that mosquitos do not seem to like. It's nice to be able to use an eco-friendly and non-toxic product that contains no DEET. Again, it works!

Comments about Repel Plant Based Lemon Eucalyptus Insect Repellent, 4 fl oz:

Sent my daughter to camp with this because I wanted a DEET-free repellent, especially since she was also going to be wearing sunscreen (which I've read not to mix a DEET-based repellent with sunscreen because of the absorption of the DEET). Anyway, though it smells REALLY strong (stronger than most repellents, even though none of them smell good), it does seem to work and after all, that plus the safety are all we really care about.

Comments about Repel Plant Based Lemon Eucalyptus Insect Repellent, 4 fl oz:

I have to say first and foremost that I haven't tested this out in a wooded area to determine how well it works, but the reason I purchased this insect repellant is that my kids' preschool sent home a bulletin from the State of Massachusetts regarding effecacy of insect repellants. It stated that oil of lemon eucalyptus is as effective as low concentrations of DEET. What I would like to weigh in on is the fragrance. I tried this out on myself, and while the fragrance is strong at first, after a short while I didn't notice it at all. To me, the fragrance is no more bothersome than other products that contain essential oils, like vapo-rub or natural cleaning agents. In my opinion, it is certainly not as noxious to breathe as many chemical insect repellants that I have used in the past. I felt comfortable sending this to preschool for my kids. Just be certain to follow the directions and not to spray it directly onto the face. If you need to apply it on the face or neck, spray some onto your palm and rub it in. I will be purchasing another bottle to keep at home.

We used this on a camping trip where the bugs were very thick. It worked fantastically. There were 6 people with us for 3 days. Only 2 bug bites out of everyone. My 6 year old got a little bit of rough skin from it, but he's highly sensitive to anything on his skin anyway.

This should be in another section - not for gardeners so much as for golfers. It's a mosquito repellent. So far we are testing it - it needs to be reapplied fairly frequently, but reapplying is simple (just spray it on) and it feels good to know I'm not putting Deet on my skin. It smells nice. When I sprayed it on the mosquitoes just flew away immediately.

Comments about Repel Plant Based Lemon Eucalyptus Insect Repellent, 4 fl oz:

I honestly think different chemicals behave differently on people. I'm the kind of person who draws mosquitoes in droves -- people stand next to me at parties just so they won't get bitten -- and I've tried MANY repellents that do nothing. This is hands down the most effective one I've tried and I love that it doesn't have DEET. It smells ghastly, though (although that fades quickly)... and be sure not to breathe it in while applying, because it's like mustard gas.
