Had high hopes. I like the Clinique Black Plum color. I press a bit into my lips and also use on cheeks. This stuff is junk. Was too thick, gritty, can't use just to press a bit of color rubs off. Threw away

Not impressed. I like the Maybelline better, it is a sheer lip stick / gloss. I bought 3 of these online, wish I did not. Do not get the hype. Most of the time I use a sheer pink shimmer lip gloss for the natural look. Disappointed.

I am now wondering if several of the earlier reviewers are the employees of the website, correcting the problem by verbal description of the actual color instead of correcting the color charts.
As of today(10/28/12), this website is still showing most of Revlon lipstick colors very inaccurately; I just received one in "Red Velvet", which the picture is showing as smooth coral red, NOWHERE NEAR A DEEP DARK BROWN RED! Very disappointed, for wasting money and trusting the color charts.

I just bought these lip butters recently and love them. All the shades are gorgeous. So far I have: red velvet, fig jam, creamsicle, and brown sugar.The red velvet is a perfect shade of red with a hint of brown. The fig jam while it looks almost black in the tube goes on as a sheer wash of color (this shade is very similar to Clinique's Almost Lipstick in Black Honey). The brown sugar is a neutral tan shade with a bit of a satin sheen. And, creamsicle is a nice light peach that would look good on most fair to medium skin tones. I know that these don't last as long as a traditional lipstick, but that's ok with me. I don't mind having to reapply. I'm seriously considering 4 other shades.

The red velvet it a great brownish red color. These Lip Butters are highly pigmented. I found if apply it like a regular lipstick, the texture feels a bit heavy on my lips. I prefer to dab on a bit till I get the desired amount of color. You can make it appear more intense by adding more product.

You can use a thin layer for subtle color or a few layers to produce vivid color. I usually focus more on my lips than my eyes in my routine, and I was pleased that this lived up to the hype. I will be buying other colors.

I am a lip product junkie. I admit it. When a new product comes on the market, I usually make a beeline to the nearest cosmetic counter to test it out. **Wait...yes, you read that correctly...'cosmetic counter'.** I am a high end makeup girl. End of story. However, Revlon's marketing got me. Emma Stone. Cute girl. Cute commercial. I can't help it. She's funny. I like her. Hook, line and sinker. Okay, so I was in the drugstore - not drugstore.com - waiting on a prescription, and saw the display for these. The colors...are gorgeous. Really. And the range of colors...stunning. I picked 4. Red Velvet was appealing to me...because, I will be honest, I like the cake. I am pretty scared of red lips, in general, because I have large lips. I feel like big lips + bright color = scary. This color (Red Velvet...mmmmmm, cake) is amazing. It is the perfect amount of color. It is sheer, yet present. Vibrant, yet subtle. Absolutely perfect for a red lip novice. The texture is...like buuuuuutttter, baby. My lips feel soft, smooth, moist, but, not sticky. Oh, and there is NO scent, which is a huge plus. I can't stand when "grown up" lip products have that tweenage, fake sweet smell and taste. I highly recommend these - I also reviewed the other 3 I purchased. I am very pleased.
