I have been coloring my own hair for nearly 30 years due to it being much more cost effective and I'm very dollar conscious. When my commercial beauty supply store went out of business ten years ago I had to find a new product. I tried several and, for the price, I have found this product to be very, very impressive! Here on line you get it for half the price of the competitor and it does the same job. It covers the gray beautifully and, as my hair has a number of different natural shades in it, it colors each shade at different levels, making my hair look extremely natural -- not "box" colored. I recently was speaking with a co-worker who asked how my color stayed so consistent as I aged. When I told her I colored my own hair and that I used Revlon Colorsilk, she was absolutely amazed -- she pays $80 every 8 weeks to have her hair done. I do believe she has now found a new "colorist" and her name is Revlon!

I've been using this product for a few years now and have never had a problem with it. The color is true to the represented color, the smell is much better than the standard ammonia formulas, and I haven't had any problems with breakage, fading or irritation. I use an application about every 5-6 weeks and have no complaints what-so-ever. Ironically, more people think this is my true color compared to my natural color.

This is my favorite brand and color; it actually is identical to the color my hair was when I was a kid. It keeps the highlights and variations, so my hair really looks sunstreaked.

Unfortunately, this particular color choice was no longer available at any of the stores where I usually shop, so I searched online to see if it was available. Not only was it available, the price was fantastic!

I have baby fine hair. It gets damaged very easily. I'm sixty five years old so my hair is old,too. This color not only covers my gray hair but it looks great on me. I have complete strangers come up to me to tell me how pretty my hair is. It dosen't damage it at all. I'm not a professional stylist, I just want to look my best.

I'm 49 years old and have been coloring my hair since I was 13. I have used practically every over the counter brand there is. I have also had my hair professionally colored and/or highlighted at a salon ( upscale salons as well). I have exceptionally sensitive skin and this product did not irritate me. And it does NOT have that peroxide smell that some brands do. The other poster said it smelled bad and irritated her scalp. That was just not my experience at all, as a matter of fact I think this brand smells better than any other and that includes what they use in salons and what you can buy at a beauty supply store. I'm sorry the other person had such a bad experience, but I think for the money especially, this is a great product. It stays pretty much true to color on the guide as well. Mine had a bit more golden tones, but my natural hair has them so that is why I said it stays pretty much true to color.[...]

This is the second time I have tried this brand and because of these economic times, was hopeful that maybe the last one was just a fluke. I'd love to spend [$] bucks instead of[$] on a box of hair color but it's not worth it. Within the first 5-min, my head started having a painful burning sensation that I could barley tolerate long enough for the product to work and it stinks! I washed my hair 2x but it still stinks and this product is not gentle on my hair either. I've used nearly all brands and also many years at the salon having it professionally done and never had anything like this happen!!! Honestly, they should take it off the market. I'll never buy it again!
