I bought this color to lighten my shade from a darker Revlon brown I used a couple months earlier. Instead this shade appears darker and definitely does not come close to the color shown on the box. The color itself is nice but not what I wanted.

I just colored today with this, having tried nearly every store bought brand of permanent haircoloring over the past 15 years since I first began to go gray in my early 20's, and this is the most natural looking color I have ever seen from a bottle. My favorite thing is that my hair feels thicker and more revitalized. Basically it looks and feels years younger. If you did not know, you would not be able to tell it is not my natural color. I have about 30 percent gray especially at the temples and hairline and this is very resistant to color. My gray is completely covered. What a pleasant surprise to find a product that works for such a great price. Will definitely buy again.

I like the product as it is easy to use and economical for me as a retiree, on limited income and I'm totally gray.

For me,the problem is that I have to re-color evey three weeks. The 1st week it is a little darker than I like, the 2nd is the perfect color and by the 3rd week, my gray is showing all around the edges of my head and fading badly.

I also find it very drying, but I try to use a good conditioner after each wash. My hair is very, very dry and I don't use a lot of products on my hair so I only need to wash my hair once a week. Sometimes if I wash more often, the color will only last 2 1/2 weeks.

I used to find coupons printed on the instruction sheet w/the plastic gloves, but haven't seen a coupon for years. I would love to find coupons on this product.

Revlon - who doesn't test on animals, by the way - makes one of the best bargains in permanent hair color. Their shades are natural looking and cover grays better than anything else I've ever tried. The grays are gone until my roots grow in. No other permanent color I've tried has matched that, my stubborn grays have always come back, until Colorsilk. And the price! Only Balsam Color can compete with that price.

The drawback is that the color is more drying than anything I've used besides L'Oreal Natural Match. My hair is naturally oily, so it stands up to products like this very well. If it were still as oily as when I was an adolescent, I'd even consider the drying effect a boon, but as it is I highly recommend anyone trying this color to invest in an excellent conditioner to go with it. The aftercare conditioner that comes in the box is just a single use packet. If there were any way Colorsilk could improve upon this product, it would be to include a multi-use tube of aftercare conditioner instead of the lonely packet.

On a different note, mileage will vary about the scent, but Iike it. Colorsilk uses a heavy herbal fragrance to cover the chemical smell of the developer. It smells like lemongrass to me. The conditioner has a nice, sweet fragrance to tone down the scent of lemongrass a bit. You can leave your house right after coloring without worrying that your hair is wafting an announcement that you just colored it.

Overall, I highly recommend this product to anyone with stubborn grays. Just don't forget to stock your conditioner!

So overall the product is pretty great. The color is a little too dark but I just dyed it today so it might fade to the color on the box. Right now I am an extremely DARK brown, almost black.
I do like this brand of dye, it doesn't smell bad, is easy on the scalp, and leaves are soft and fresh looking.
I'm not sure about this color yet, but I do 100% recommend this brand of dye.
Plus the price is perfect :)

I use this to cover my grays and it has always been easy to use, lasting and a good color for me.

I've been using the other brand root touch-up until I discovered this Revlon product at drugstore.com. The other brand comes with a brush and costs [$]. This medium brown color matches my natural hair color, and costs only [$]. Good buy!

the first time I ever used Revlon ColorSilk, I fell in love. I was trying to dye my hair back to my natural shade, over my red hair (which I had done at the salon), & bought this product mainly because I knew Revlon doesn't test on animals & it was cheap. the Medium Brown 41 was the first color I used & I was so amazed because not only did it dye my hair back, over salon color, but it was pretty much the exact color my natural hair color is. I recently dyed my hair red at the salon again but was displeased with the results, so ColorSilk helped me get back to my natural color, yet again. I used the Medium Rich Brown 47 this time & it worked just as well with matching my natural color. plus, I LOVE the smell of hair color & this stuff smells soo good! the conditioner is a little strong, though. & it's messy, but what hair color isn't?

I had dark blonde/light brown hair before, and I wanted it to be medium brown color. It came out BLACK and patchy. there are still some light brown streaks and the rest is black. I hate it so much I want to cry :( NEVER buy this product.

This product is one of the few products out there that actually shows up on dark hair. Nevertheless, this dye is really gentle an doesn't dry out hair. Watch out for the smell though; rinse thoroughly. Otherwise, a great product.
