Comments about Revlon ColorStay Shadowlinks Eye Shadow, Greige, .05 oz:
They offer a wonderful variety of colors, BUT be very careful when choosing - be sure and read the back of each color. Some are matte, some are shimmer, some are "pearl." I made the mistake of buying a pearl color with a matte color. There are two problems with this: (1)The matte and the shimmer/sparkle/pearls don't look right together (IMHO), and (2)the pearl is not pearl at all - it's VERY metallic/shiny/sparkly. I picture pearl as a very subtle sheen - this is way beyond that. Much too much shine and sparkle for my 49 year old eyes. I combat this by using my matte face powder with my blending brush when I blend my shadows, but I shouldn't have to do this. Also, the colors are presented in rows in the store display: each row has colors that complement each other. The problem is, even though the colors go together, they're all different finishes - no "all matte" color groups, no "all sheen" or "all pearl" color groups. It's quite frustrating. If mixing finishes doesn't bother you, then these are great eye shadows and the individual shadows slide and snap together easily to make a custom palette (great idea).
