I've purchased similar products before that stain your lips as opposed to using conventional lipstick. This one doesn't last as long as some others and the balm end of the tube broke off within the first few uses.

This is possibly the least useful lip product I've ever used. Application is blotchy, uneven, and wears off easily. The gloss is less than glossy, and breaks off after one or two uses. Even using another gloss is less than satisfactory. Do not not not waste your money.

This is not a miracle product (at least not for me). It lasts maybe an hour or two, but that's better than the 5-10 minutes that lip glosses and lipsticks usually last on me!

What I love about this stain is that it isn't drying and it doesn't settle into the cracks in my lips. I apply the stain first, then the balm-- sometimes I put a sheer gloss over it, too-- and it looks very natural and shiny without feeling sticky.

The color Beloved is like a plum/mauve color. You can put on a just little bit for a more natural look or add more to make it darker. I think it's very flattering and it looks/feels way nicer than other longlasting lip products I've tried.

I think their regular lipsticks are great; this however, this deposited into the cracks in my lips and the color was garish. Never again!

I love this product. I use it for all occasions. It is easy to use and stays wear I put it. I hate leaving traces of lipstick on glasses, mugs or my BF. My one complaint is that the included gloss/balm breaks off the applicator easily.

I used this for an evening out with friends, for the first time. The color is true to selection but it is bold. As it goes on like a stain or marker on paper, the color is saturated, or as I said, bold. So, keep this in mind when selecting the color. The product works and the color is good. After application, you choose whether you want to leave it matte (as it goes on) or apply the gloss at the other end of the product (comes with). I used the gloss and found it unified the color I'd applied. It came off easily, at the end of the evening, with soap and water.

I rated this product five stars to help balance out the lower ratings. The balm is absolutely horrible on this product, as it easily breaks off. So, ignore it! The rest of the product is fan-tas-tic. I really love the dried-out lip look featured on so many models this year, and this is the perfect shade to duplicate the look. The actual stain is not drying at all. If you want a glossy, daytime look, just wear gloss over it. Problem solved! This color is a gorgeous mauvey nude, perfect for darkening pale lips or for emphasizing plain lips. I would describe the color as a pale plum nude. Wearable for all skin tones, but best on warm mediums.

This stain rocks! I don't know why folks are complaining about the balm , but they must be really heavy handed to break it off! I thought the balm was GENIUS! (I had to emergency loan the balm to my bf; he loved it and he's a Burt's Bees user!). Since using this stain, I've gotten SOOOOOO many compliments. Gothic (after several swipes) comes off as a very true red on my lips (and we all know how hard it can be to find a good red!). I love this stuff... I'd buy it in bulk!

i think i still prefer cover girl's lipstain. but this is nice to have the lip balm on the same applicator. only drawback is that the lip balm does not retract. i'm afraid of breaking it off when i remove & replace the cap. all in all, it's a good product for the price.

With first application the product literally stained my lips and not in a good way. I had to use lipstick to cover the staining until it wore off. After a few applications I learned how to apply so that all of the color did not appear on only one section of my lips.
