I tried the product because it was advertised as scented. I have not painted my nails since I was a teenager and need to do something for fun and wanted to try and strengthen my nails. I used it by itself. No base coat. It was a thick coat. I had assumed i would need to apply a second coat but it would appear too thick if I did. It add also did smell like bubble gum as advertised which I liked and it continues to stay that way. I liked the color that showes on my nails although I would have liked a less dark pink and it appeared deeper than pink.

I'm not really sure what the point of scented nail polish is since it looks kind of weird to keep smelling your nails. But the novelty of it was compelling enough for me to buy it! Bubble gum is the perfect hot/fuschia pink and it really does smell like bubble gum when it's dry!! No, seriously! Today is the third day I've had it on and it still has a bubble gum scent. Because I was scared that a base or top coat might alter the smell, I didn't use either and even though it's been three days, I only have minimal chipping at the very tips of my nails (not surprising since I type so much).
I would buy this nail polish just for the color and staying power, but the cute smell is just irresistible. And you can't beat the price! I can't wait to try out the other scents/colors I got!!
