VS Most Liked Negative Review Easy availability is an important factor This is a generic (store brand) for Zantac 75, which costs considerably more and has recently become hard to find in the chains with store brands. The copies of Zantac 150 are more generally on store shelves. The lower dose is effective for me. I appreciate your supplying it. Comments about Rite Aid Acid Reducer, Ranitidine Tablets, 160 ea: I had an extensive duodenal ulcer at a young age. In my 20s, it bled so bad that I was hospitalized and needed 4 units of blood. Tagamet was brand new back then, and I was on a 600mg dose 4x/day for ages.Years later, I was tested and then treated for H. Pilori and that solved the problem (anyone with chronic heatburn should get tested). On rare occasion, I need an H2 blocker and ranitidine (zantac) works best for me. The minimum dose of 75mg almost always does the trick. The other reviewer is right, though, it's often hard to find the 75mg pills. Guess everybody with even mild symptoms things they should take high doses of this or other meds. Just remember that EVERYTHING has side effects and long-term consequences, even tylenol, so the less you take, the better it is for you. As to this med, obviously you shouldn't waste your money on the brand name. And, in this case, you can get the generic version -- ranitidine -- for a much lower price ([$] currently for 65 150mg tablets at "[...]," just use a pill splitter to break them in half).
