skin redness caused by the patch does not go away after four days, or if your skin swells, or you get a rash.
irregular heartbeat or palpitations occur.

If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Nicotine, whether from smoking or medication, can harm your baby. First try to stop smoking without the patch.

These are the same generic patches that you can get at other drugstores (different box, same product). This is the second time that I've used them.
The first time, about six months ago, they were the only patch I used. They were another drugstore's version, and I still had some cravings and muscle aches around wherever the patch was that day. I ended up quitting the patches (and of course, started smoking again) because I lost my job and couldn't afford the patches and thought I would just go cold turkey. My point to this is that it isn't the patches' fault that I started smoking again.
This time, I quit Dec 1. For the first couple of weeks I was using NicoDerm CQ patches. I had a lot of problems with them - most significantly, very bad nausea and lightheadness for the first hour after I put it on. After that, I would be okay as long as I remembered to take it off at night.
Then I found these patches on sale, so I stocked up. I haven't stepped down to the 14mg patches yet, but I like these patches much more. I haven't had any side effects, no nausea like with the NicoDerm CQ ones or muscle aches with the other drugstore ones. I have also had very few cravings. It would be nice if these came in a clear option like the NicoDerm CQ ones, but its certainly not a deal-breaker since you can just put it somewhere your clothes will cover up.

Don't waste your money by trying to save dollars on these! Both my husband and I had horrible reactions to these patches. They made us feel sick to our stomachs, headachey, nervous, and at the same time didn't seem to be curbing our cravings for cigarettes. We used the 21 mg. because we're 1-1/2 to 2 pack a day smokers. We were so disappointed we ended up smoking again. We've since switched to the Nicoderm CQ 21 mg. and we're doing great now! This time for sure!!!
Comments about Rite Aid Nicotine Transdermal System, Step One, 21mg Patch, 14 patches:
It was working GREAT, then after 4 or 5 days, I would get a ring of welts/burns, that are taking forver to heal and itch. I have sensative skin and psoriasis, so maybe this just isn't right for me...disappointed, because it was working great.
Comments about Rite Aid Nicotine Transdermal System, Step One, 21mg Patch, 14 patches:
Great product, you will need more than one patch a day if you are a heavy smoke. the nicotine in the patch becomes less effective after a couple of hours.
Comments about Rite Aid Nicotine Transdermal System, Step One, 21mg Patch, 14 patches:
I've used 4 different brands. These are the least expensive. But ALL of the brands have very ineffective adhesive in my opinion. In the Summer, they regularly just fell off if I got the least bit hot. I'm a pretty active person and have dry skin but I'm constantly looking down to see them on the floor...not much good there! I have the same problem with every brand so I buy these because they are cheapest...
Comments about Rite Aid Nicotine Transdermal System, Step One, 21mg Patch, 14 patches:
These are the best discount nicotine patches I've found (and I've tried a few). Far superior to the clear patches in my opinion. They stay on, don't irritate the skin, and are affordable.
Comments about Rite Aid Nicotine Transdermal System, Step One, 21mg Patch, 14 patches:
This product is equal in quality but much lower in cost to the leading brand and the ingredients are the same. It actually stops the craving for a cigarette and the effect lasts for hours. It works!
Comments about Rite Aid Nicotine Transdermal System, Step One, 21mg Patch, 14 patches:
I bought 2 boxes, thinking I'd need at least 4 weeks worth of patches to quit. I used the patches for exactly 2 weeks, lost enough of my anxiety for nicotine that I can overcome the rest of the "habits" nasty hurdles on my own. Those are psychological, and the patch can't fix that. I'm not a huge believer that you need the 3 steps of this patch to quit, once you've lost your initial craving to light up, it's easy to wean yourself off the nicotine. I bought some nicotine gum just in case, but have only used it just a couple of times. Good luck, you can do this.
Comments about Rite Aid Nicotine Transdermal System, Step One, 21mg Patch, 14 patches:
Patches are circular & backing paper is square so very easy to get patch apart from backing. By end of day, skin under patch was red (as happens w/all), but seemed to go away after wiping w/a wet washcloth. Had good "sticking" power. Don't see how there could be much difference (except price!) between "branded" & "non-branded" for effectivness of helping to quit smoking - amount of nicotine is same.
