The smell is very strong pure rose but it dries down nicely to a soft powdery floral. Using this has a hand lotion, the bottle has lasted me about 18 months. It hydrates skin but doesn't leave it sticky or greasy. I use this lotion before bed all over my hands and nails. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? I've been romanced away from it on occasion by a prettier bottle or a good advertising campaign, but I come back every time. This lotion is my go-to favorite. Years ago, in the 60's or 70's, it came in a large tub with a pump top. I always hope to see the tub again. I adore this product!
