Anyway, gorgeous tin; the balm smells great, if you like roses, that is (I do); and then I go to use it. I don't know about you, but I don't like to stick my fingers into my balms unless it's some "balm emergency". I'll use my lips until I can no longer get at it that way. So I did so with this product, very lightly, and ended up with goop EVERYWHERE. This stuff is SOFT and SMOOSHY beyond belief. What a mess. But now I know. APPROACH WITH CAUTION!!! Store this somewhere cool. It's worth the extra measures because it is awesome. There's a reason people have been buying it since 1892! It's perfection in a pretty tin. It's hyper-lightweight, but stays on. It's flavor/scent are very light, but soooooo nice. And chapping? Buh bye... in ONE use. How's that? Granted, it was light chapping, but still... I have very dry lips and this did not penetrate or heal. In fact it felt like my lips were getting drier the more I used it! This might be better for someone who does not have sensitive lips. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because I use it on my cuticles (though it does leave my hands oily). I prefer Sally Hansen Lip Butter hands down! The smell is kind of weird, but certainly not bad enough to stop using. The texture is really greasy, it doesn't seem to stay on for very long, and its so oily you can feel it ending up in your mouth (icky). The only reason I use this over other balms is that it looks nice on, very natural pink and not too glossy. Its ok, but I really can't figure out why this is such a highly prized beauty product. It has the best scent ever, and for those of you like me who choose not to wear lipstick, it is a great replacement. It gives your lips a lovely shine and looks fabulous. I use it on my lips, on dry elbows and heels, rub it on dry cuticles, all over my face to keep from chapping when I am outside for a long time in cold weather... even on a diaper rash once when nothing else was working, and it cleared up in one day. I feel it has an odd subtle plastic like taste which I didn't like at all. If it wasn't for the taste, I would have thought it would be Vaseline's Petroleum Jelly, which in MHO I think works better. The good thing is that you can use it in a bunch of ways, like on rough cuticles or to add a bit of shine to your lips and face. I was torn between giving it a 2 or a 3.
