Anyway, gorgeous tin; the balm smells great, if you like roses, that is (I do); and then I go to use it. I don't know about you, but I don't like to stick my fingers into my balms unless it's some "balm emergency". I'll use my lips until I can no longer get at it that way. So I did so with this product, very lightly, and ended up with goop EVERYWHERE. This stuff is SOFT and SMOOSHY beyond belief. What a mess. But now I know. APPROACH WITH CAUTION!!! Store this somewhere cool. It's worth the extra measures because it is awesome. There's a reason people have been buying it since 1892! It's perfection in a pretty tin. It's hyper-lightweight, but stays on. It's flavor/scent are very light, but soooooo nice. And chapping? Buh bye... in ONE use. How's that? Granted, it was light chapping, but still... I have very dry lips and this did not penetrate or heal. In fact it felt like my lips were getting drier the more I used it! This might be better for someone who does not have sensitive lips. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because I use it on my cuticles (though it does leave my hands oily). I prefer Sally Hansen Lip Butter hands down! I usually had to go to their web-site, purchase as a single item, and pay shipping for just the one product. What a surprise when I saw it on drugstore.com. Thanks. Try it and you will love it. But as one said, watch it if it gets too hot, it will melt. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: I have used Smith's Rosebud Salve since I found it in an old country store in North Carolina while on vacation. It's the BEST! Nothing can compare to it. It is VERY difficult to find. I stock up whenever I can. As a former model, I've used everything out there. It also gives your lips a rosy glow without using any lipstick. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: I still can't decide. I would like it better if I hadn't had to pay 12.00 due to shipping. 5.50 would have been better if I could have found this in a store, but couldn't where I live. The smell is not as nice as I thought is would be. However, the was it feels on lips is pretty nice. Does really well on my cuticles. Should last forever, the tin is bigger than I thought it would be. The jury is still out on this. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: I was a lip balm addict. However, I noticed that as I grew older, a lot of products had an adverse effect on my lips, causing them to become more chapped and cracked. When all the editors of the beauty magazines were raving about Rosebud salve a year or two ago, I decided to try it. I hated it at first because the consistency was similiar to vaseline and it smelled bad. But with the passage of time I found myself eliminating my drawer full of lip balms and lip glosses because the only thing I use nowadays is, strangely enough, the Rosebud salve. I can't even stand Burt's Bee's anymore because the ingredients sting my lips. So if you're like me and you thought this thing was a piece of trash -- give it another try, you just might find that it's one of the better balms out there in the market. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: I love this product. It is one of my must haves. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: This is a great product. However, there is nothing new about it. It is basically petroleum jelly with a few other oils in it. I love it for the slight color and it is not quite as greasy as petroleum jelly. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: It smells good, not overpowering...And it does the trick. Plus, it seems the tin is bottomless...I have had it forever. When it seems the salve is running out, you still can use it for many more months! Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: This product is so overhyped. Unless you like having gloppy petroleum jelly on your lips, you'll dislike this. I would use it exclusively at bedtime except I find the smell offensive, not a botanical rose-like smell, but powdery and artificial. Pass on this one and go straight for it's Strawberry lip balm cousin also by Rosebud. It's the best balm there is; just try it! Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: It smells fantastic, sort of old-fashioned but sexy -- hard to describe, but wonderful. It also makes lips shiny and plump-looking and just a tiny bit pink. This is why I keep using it even though it doesn't do much for my lips -- it's just petroleum, which is a poor moisturizer if you want long-term effects. So, not effective on chapped lips, but good for cosmetic use. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: This stuff is wonderfully! I love the subtle rose scent and it works wonders for many different things. I've used it on my lips, dry skin patches, cuticles, and probably some place it isn't meant for, but hey, it helped! This stuff has been around for years and I hope it stays that way. Highly recommended! Displaying reviews 271-280 ![]() |
