Anyway, gorgeous tin; the balm smells great, if you like roses, that is (I do); and then I go to use it. I don't know about you, but I don't like to stick my fingers into my balms unless it's some "balm emergency". I'll use my lips until I can no longer get at it that way. So I did so with this product, very lightly, and ended up with goop EVERYWHERE. This stuff is SOFT and SMOOSHY beyond belief. What a mess. But now I know. APPROACH WITH CAUTION!!! Store this somewhere cool. It's worth the extra measures because it is awesome. There's a reason people have been buying it since 1892! It's perfection in a pretty tin. It's hyper-lightweight, but stays on. It's flavor/scent are very light, but soooooo nice. And chapping? Buh bye... in ONE use. How's that? Granted, it was light chapping, but still... I have very dry lips and this did not penetrate or heal. In fact it felt like my lips were getting drier the more I used it! This might be better for someone who does not have sensitive lips. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because I use it on my cuticles (though it does leave my hands oily). I prefer Sally Hansen Lip Butter hands down! I use it under my eyes to make them soft and supple in the morning. It works wonders on my lips! I loved it so much that I went through it soo fast even though it was supposed to last a year. I love the oils that were in it. My lips CRAVE this stuff. It absorbs in to my lips so fast! I won't buy Blistex or anything else again! I really hope they make this stuff forever! Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: I really do not understand the hype about this product. It was a mess and the tin opened up in my purse and was EVERYWHERE. This really is overpriced Vaseline. I would suggest spending a little more money and getting the lip conditioner from MAC. It is amazing and compared to this, it is awesome. The only reason why I gave this two stars was because the tin was rather cute. Impractical, but cute. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: It seems that people either love or hate this product; I happen to fall into the former camp. This has no SPF so I don't use it during the day, but for a nighttime lip moisture treatment you can't beat it. The scent is light and non-offensive to me, but again I find that everyone I know either loves or hates rose-scented products. One other thing; even if you do end up not liking this, you'll never have a problem finding someone to give it to. :) Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: I bought this product because I had heard such good things about it. I have not found a use for it yet. I tried it as a lip balm, for my cuticles, for rough skin patches, etc. There is no use for this, and the smell is horrid. I would not suggest anyone buy this, you'll most likely regret it. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: IT'S TRUE, VASELINE IS A BETTER BUY. This stuff does NOT smell like ROSES. It smells like baby powder and something a grandmother would wear. But my main reason for leaving this message is that if you have sensitive skin, beware. I put this stuff on my hands and they broke out in a severe allergic reaction/rash that will not go away. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: I love this product. It seems heavenly and is great as a lip balm, hand salve, cuticle cream and works great on dry feet and elbows. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: I saw many good reviews on this and I love to buy lip balms and such. Though I try this since it looked kind of cute too. Turns out it smells like your normal Vaseline with added color. The tin was hard to open and close. I got to really use my nails to open it. Since it's summer, this stuff melts so don't even think about carrying it in your purse. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: Maybe I'll have to use it longer but it just seems to be scented petroleum jelly. The tin is cute but not what I store it in because it's so hard to open and then won't re-close. I have used it at night and it doesn't seem to stay on like other balms. Oh well, I'll keep trying it for different things but I won't probably buy it again. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: I have heard rave reviews about the famous Smith's Rosebud Salve, and being a lip balm freak, I had to try it. I am very disappointed, because I just do not think the product lives up to the reputation. It has the consistency of Vaseline, and looks, feels and smells just like it too. Basically it is just overpriced Vaseline. You are better off buying Vaseline, because you would save some money. The stuff is tinted a sort of rose color (hence the name Rosebud Salve) but it does not add any color to your lips. It does not last longer on your lips than Vaseline or any other lip balm for that matter. I have no idea where this gleaming reputation came from. I tried it on dry skin and cuticles but it does not seem to moisturize any better (I recommend Burt's Bee's Hand Salve for that...) than, say, hand lotion. I would have given it 3 stars for an average rating but deducted 1 star because it is overpriced. Bottom line: buy Vaseline, it is the same, and cheaper. Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz: I bought Rosebud Salve after reading about it in so many beauty magazines. It is indeed a treat for the lips. It has made mine soft and plump. I can apply it alone for its long lasting moisturizing benefits, or on top of lipstick for a dewy shine. The smell is old fashioned and feminine and there is no taste. I've also found that this product smoothes dry skin on my hands and elbows. Displaying reviews 291-300 ![]() |
