Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve 0.8 oz

our price: $5.59
in stock

Is it as good as they claim? There's no doubt. Hard-to-find Rosebud Salve is considered the gold-standard of lip balms -- even jaded Beauty Editors (we're just one example) go crazy for it. Soft, supple, and slightly rose-scented lips result with every use.

I've wanted to try this product for a loooooong time, and finally just saw it again on here, so I ordered it. I know... very exciting tale. Anyway, gorgeous tin; the balm smells great, if you like roses, that is (I do); and then I go to use it. I don't know about you, but I don't like to stick my fingers into my balms unless it's some "balm emergency". I'll use my lips until I can no longer get at it that way. So I did so with this product, very lightly, and ended up with goop EVERYWHERE. This stuff is SOFT and SMOOSHY beyond belief. What a mess. But now I know. APPROACH WITH CAUTION!!! Store this somewhere cool. It's worth the extra measures because it is awesome. There's a reason people have been buying it since 1892! It's perfection in a pretty tin. It's hyper-lightweight, but stays on. It's flavor/scent are very light, but soooooo nice. And chapping? Buh bye... in ONE use. How's that? Granted, it was light chapping, but still...
This is definitely a buy-again. Even with the smoosh-factor. :)

I was so excited to get this because (like a fool) I wanted to use what the stars use. So lame! This product smells nice but tastes like glycerin. I have very dry lips and this did not penetrate or heal. In fact it felt like my lips were getting drier the more I used it! This might be better for someone who does not have sensitive lips. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because I use it on my cuticles (though it does leave my hands oily). I prefer Sally Hansen Lip Butter hands down!

This stuff is wonderfully! I love the subtle rose scent and it works wonders for many different things. I've used it on my lips, dry skin patches, cuticles, and probably some place it isn't meant for, but hey, it helped! This stuff has been around for years and I hope it stays that way. Highly recommended!

Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz:

I guess it depends on why you're buying it. If you're buying it for the smell...it's ok, but the strawberry smells a lot better. If you're buying it for the coverage...it's pretty good. It's slick like Vaseline, but doesn't help chapped lips. If you're buying it for the color...it's very, very faint. I like the strawberry better than the rosebud.

This is a great all-purpose lip balm. I put it on right after I get out of the shower and use toner and moisturizer on my face. So, by the time I'm done putting on makeup and fixing my hair, my lips are in perfect shape for lipstick -- or more Rosebud salve if it's not a lipstick day! It's also terrific for use as a cuticle conditioner!

It does smell nice and looks nice and glossy on (for about 5 minutes), but it doesn't work as an overnight moisturizer or as a balm for chapped lips. Works on dry hands, though!

Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz:

This is an extremely emollient lip balm which softens dry lips. It also helps soothe other dry patches on my skin. I am curious to try the minty one. The only downfall is that it is lip balm in a pot, so the excess invariably ends up on my hands and I'm always left with the question of where to wipe it. But I give it 5 stars because it keeps my lips from being chapped, which is what I was looking for in the first place.

Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz:

I love the lip softening, the gloss effect, the nice light feel, the cuticle benefits, but the absolute best thing for me has been applying it along the sides of my nose, where every fall and winter the skin cracks, flakes, and reddens. None of that this year with Rosebud and I have tried everything from La Mer to Vaseline with no success. This is like a miracle to me, solving a frustrating, uncomfortable problem I have had for years. It also seems to work on zits. Now I have one at home and in my purse and tell everybody how great it is. Great multi-purpose product.

Comments about Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve, .8 oz:

After all the hype over this, I had to try it. I love the thick, emollient texture and it has a nice smell, but as for actually moisturizing my lips...it doesn't do its job. Leaves a nice shine on them like a gloss, but if my lips are chapped before I use it, they're still chapped after I use it.

I love this! My lips were always dry and cracking. This has made them look healthy and full. I love the smell too! I also have had to use it double duty for my dry cuticles which it also works great on.
