I first learned of this product when I had my hair done at a salon. I have very fine, wavy hair that tends to dry out when I blow dry it or use a hot iron. I wanted a graduated bob, shorter in back with longer, angled sides. The hair dresser said it was doable but I would have to use specific products to maintain it and that's when she told me of the Rusk stra8 and to be sure to use the keratin shampoo and conditioner, as well as the thermal shield. I follow her advice and my hair comes out so beautifully soft and manageable. It stays straight for a good week, with only a slight touch up using the hot iron and the thermal gel when needed. My sister has a lot of hair, very think, curly and course which she chemically straightens regularly. The same hair dresser told her not to use the chemicals and to use the same Rusk products. Her hair is so soft and beautiful. It takes her longer since she has so much hair but she uses a ceramic dryer, sections her hair and works at it slowly with the same treatments. Her hair has never been so soft and manageable! We both agree though that the product in the salon seemed to be less thick and sticky than what we found in this bottle. In the salon, the hair dresser used a spray bottle while the one we received is squeezed into the palm. I find I use less than she and that a little goes a long way for my hair.

I just put the product in my hand, you must use a generous amount and then with your hands, rub it into your hair when your hair is wet. It has helped with my thick and wavy hair to stay calmer when the humidity is high. It also makes your hair soft.
You do have to use a lot, I see a big difference when I don't use it one day. I use it pretty much everyday and panic if I'm almost out and haven't replenished. Great product, it's too bad it doesn't come in a bigger bottle, but have checked.

I love this product, I use a small amount on wet hair blow dry with a large brush, it is great. I go over end with a flat iron sometimes, and others just go after brushing dryl It adds bouce and shine, I love it, read about it in the Wall Street Journal.

This product works very well, keeps my hair straight, soft and bouncy. I use as directed after I apply a hair repair cream and wrap my damp towel for 10 minutes. After that I apply hold and conditioning cream and blow out and straighten, my hair ends up like I walked out of a salon and I have definitely noticed the difference adding this product to my routine ritual before straightening my hair!

i have afro textured 4a ( a lil 3c mixed in) this stuff works so great!
i use it after i put on a anti frizz cream ( i use garnier fructis sleek and shine leave in on wet hair.) then use some heat protectant spray over the rusk. n blow dry on high heat high speed ( thats the trick to this product)
MY hair came out soo straight. Ive always wanted a product that would make my hair straight enough that i didnt have to flat iron unless i wanted it pin straight.
my hair was pretty straight with a blow dryer alone..

tips: blow dry hair in sections ( i divide my hair in four. then in eight) . detangle hair before blowdrying. ( i detangle with the rusk in)

This product shouldn't be classified as a salon product. I have Shakira like hair and I thought it would make my hair more easy to style.WRONG!It's expensive,it smells like hair dye,and dried out my hair. Don't waste your money on this!!!

I used this years ago and loved it but started buying cheaper products. My hair is naturally curly but I wear it straight so after being disappointed with the gel I was using, I decided to try Rusk St8 again. I'm so glad I did. It holds up better than anything else when straightening my hair and works great even in high humidity. It's worth the price and lasts a long time. It also works great when scrunching curly hair. After using this again, I immediately started receiving compliments on my hair because it's so shiny and healthy looking.

This product didn't do one good thing for my hair. It made my hair frizzy, uncontrollable, dry, and just plain horrible. My hair is wavy, frizzy, and thick. This may work for those who have thin-fine hair.

I have dry, fine, wavy, super frizzy, very static prone hair. This product is the best! I use a dime-to-nickel sized blob on my above-shoulder length hair and blow dry every morning. In the winter when my hair is extra dry and extra staticky, I mix it with few drops of Biosilk Silk Therapy. It leaves my hair soft, shiny, smooth and straight. I can use my round brush and blow dryer to make it really straight (almost like I used a flat iron!) or leave some body and movement. This is the best product ever!
