Sally Hansen makes several different at-home wax kits and surprisingly, they all have different waxes. This one is effective, fragrant-smelling, and easy to wash off. I tried another kit (the "Brazilian Bikini Wax" one), and the wax was crusty and ineffective... like putting Elmer's Glue on my legs... ugh! This lavender stuff is the only at-home wax I'll ever use. If they discontinue this, I'm back to the spa.

I used this product for a bikini wax (more than just the "line"). I now know why people pay to have someone else do it for you. I was trying to save money (it cost me $70 to get a good "full" bikini wax in a salon). This product was too messy for that area. My hands became unbearably sticky; I couldn't "smooth" the paper down. It dribbled everywhere. As it cooled it was harder to work with and I had to keep reheating the jar. You also have to hold the skin very taut or it will rip your skin and bruise it (this was in the instructions, but still was difficult to do in a small area). Wax got on the floor and counter top. There wasn't anything in the instructions that said how to remove wax. I tried rubbing alcohol, soap and eventually just tried the skin oil they included which made the floor slippery. It was not fun. Maybe it is better for a different area such as legs. It was just so messy and impractical. Lesson learned :-)

this stuff is not water soluble so you can't just wash it off in a hot shower like some other products, but that is what the azulene finishing oil is included for! i keep a wet wipe next to me while waxing and when i'm ready to clean the leftover wax from an area, i simply apply some of the oil to the wet wipe and it comes right off. this stuff is a purple sticky mess, but as long as you keep the oil handy and be sure to put an old sheet or something under you while waxing, there should be no problems.

I've been using this particular wax for a few years. It's smell is pleasant, and the oil that you can use after waxing is really soothing. I don't find the wax any stickier or messier than any other wax used for hair removal. It has to be sticky to cling to your hair, and because of that a mess could ensue but self-waxing at home definitely takes some trial and error. Just make sure to rub the strip well after you apply it and give it enough time to rest before removing(that was my mistake when I did it for the first time and it was miserable!). Also make sure hair isn't too long, or too short. I'd say a quarter of an inch is perfect.

I bought this product for use on my bikini line. The wax was incredibly sticky, like honey. When I attempted to remove it using the strips, the pain was agonizing, and half of the product was still left behind - it stuck like glue to my skin. I followed the instructions precisely, but found this wax to be horribly ineffective. Within 10 minutes of attempting to use it, I gave up and tossed it in the trash. And this is highly unlike me - I am the type of person who will use up a product that I'm not crazy about, simply to get my money's worth. I would never buy this product again. Don't waste your money! For at-home waxing, I prefer Nair Salon Divine (also sold here on drugstore.com). It's fabulous.

I really liked this wax, it isn't messy if you use the finisher oil to help remove the wax. It also isn't too painful and has a pleasant smell. It has helped to make it easier for me to wax by myself. Yet, it has a lot of wax in comparison to the amount of strips they give. So I had to buy some strips and wax sticks at Sally's Beauty Supply. Otherwise, I think I will be sticking to this wax for awhile.

It has been picking up most of the hairs when I wax, I do have a few strays, but I believe that has more to do with lack of skill in the waxing department versus the wax. I do also have consistent ingrown hair, but that has been becoming less when I use AHA products.

I truly enjoy using the wax though because it's simple and helps me to remain hairless.

The was was extremely messy and extremely sticky.
All the wax that is applied sticks together like a big layer and the areas close to the strip comes of with it.
I was sad to not find the nice aloe body lotion and sally Hansen's nice plastic aplicator in this set.
Does a good job in getting all the hair but because of the messiness I will not buy it again.
Sally Hansen's express kit does a great job and has the convenience of being water soluble, sadly I haven't been finding that in the stores lately.
