Sarna is the best product we have found to relieve the dryness and associated itching. Prior to using Sarna he would scratch his legs, especially at bedtime, until they bled. This problem is totally eliminated by applying Sarna before he goes to bed. Some people complain about the scent, but my husband and I both find it pleasing and it opens up the sinuses! A bonus is that Drugstore.com offers Sarna at a more reasonable price than we can buy it locally. I attempted to use this product on him as an everyday moisturizer when he was 5 years old. Immediately his skin broke out even worse and he screamed because he felt like he was "ON FIRE." I had to immediately give him a bath to wash it off. My suggestion is that if you have any areas of skin which are cracked, broken, or severely irritated, that you opt for the Sarna Sensitive which is made without the Mentholatum based ingredients. Since the itch was so deep it was fairly unassailable by normal means; eg. scratching it. Sarna can be applied to the area and it alleviates the itch for several hours, it smells heavenly and I can't imagine life without it. The small scabby area that I had from my repeated attempts to get relief by scratching is healing nicely. Sarna is a lifesaver; an itch that can't be scratched will drive you nuts. Pros
