This stuff is worth the price, and a little goes a very long way!
We used it on 2 hypertrophic/keloid scars: a slightly-raised, 1.5-incher on arm; and, a very-raised, 3-inch scar on scalp). Medium-to-dark skin tone.

We've tried lots of scar-care products over the last 6 yrs. Mederma was a smelly, total waste of money. The (now-discontinued) Neutrogena & Curad scar sheets did o.k. The best had been Biodermis' medical-grade, silicone, post-op sheeting (not in stores). Nothing had greatly flattened the scars, though, or made their color more like the regular skin surrounding them. And then we tried this stuff in Oct. 2008.

We tested it out on the smaller, arm scar. To our shock, it completely flattened in just under four weeks (applied twice daily, like the directions said to)! We've been using it on the scalp scar for the last 3 weeks, but just evenings and weekends.

It dries to a flexible, sweatproof 2nd-skin in 1-2 minutes; however, it's not invisible. It looks similar to a piece of clear tape on your skin, so it's best for bodyparts covered by clothing. It stays in place extremely well, but also peels off pretty easily. It makes the same miracle promises that other anti-scar products do; but, it’s the only one we’ve tried that actually delivers on them.

This did not help me scars. It dried on and cracled and peeld off my skin. Wearing it looks like I had a severe skin disorder on top of the scar. Turns white and peeling...looks like peeeling burned skin. Tried to use for months but the shedding look and flakes were really bad...and even putting up with that for a few months..no change in my scars. I would not recommend at all. Avoid. There are much better options out there.

Comments about Scarguard MD, 1 fl oz:

I have been using Scarguard MD for 3 months now following a very extensive abdominal surgery that left a very unsightly 9 inch scar. When you use this properly, it will make your scars almost invisible.

This stuff starting to flake off easily when I returned to work and I could tell the difference in scar appearance. The parts when it would not flake off were nearly invisible and the parts where it did flake off were becoming raised and darkening. It's taken me awhile to perfect the application, but I found that the most effective (at least for my type of scar) way of applying the stuff is to make sure you extend the solution AT LEAST a full inch beyond your scar. This keeps the stuff from flaking off as easily. Yes, you use the solution up faster but isn't it worth it to reduce the severity of the appearance of scars?

I have used Kelo-cote and the silicone sheets and Scarguard has been the most effective. I went back to using it two weeks ago and my raised scars are now shrinking.

When I opened this the first thing that hit me was the nail polish-like strong odor...really strong. I brushed onto my scar but within an hour or so it dried to a white flaky layer that crumbled off. Too expensive to not work. I returned. sorry

It will turn white and peal off if applied with a heavy hand. Thin film of it works best.

Comments about Scarguard MD, 1 fl oz:

I recommend this product because it starts to flatten scars the first week, with maximum improvement within 4 months. It even helps with scars that are old. The redness issue is slower to fix than the raised scar issue, but it helps with both eventually. This product is easy to apply a thin layer with a brush, just like nail polish -- which is how it smells when first applied. It dries in a minute, is fairly waterproof, starts peeling and flaking several hours later, so must be applied 2-3 x a day. To remove, you peel it off, which is no big deal. The price here is very high -- locally, I have paid less for the same amount.

Comments about Scarguard MD, 1 fl oz:

I had my lower eyelids done several months ago. My doctor instructed me to use this product which I immediately did. I used this product ScarguardMD every single day since my surgery. I noticed that the scars seem to be reappearing beneath my eyelids again as they did earlier after the operation. I thought it was simply my imagination until more and more people brought this to my attention. Now I realize this product is causing the scars to worsen. What else could it possibly be unless the doctor screwed up during the operation? I'm beginning to look like the Bride of Frankenstein. I would be very careful when considering using this product, especially on your face. I'm going to see an attorney about this situation and of course I've discontinued using this product.

Comments about Scarguard MD, 1 fl oz:

No, it does not work! I used it for four months with absolutely no improvement in my scars. After such disappointment particularly when considering the steep price, I had a sense of being scammed because the national retailer from where I purchased the product will not accept returns for purchases over 30 days old, yet ScarGuard recommends the product be used for four to six months for best results. Long story short, ScarGuard has positioned you in a "catch 22". The only one who wins is ScarGuard. Besides the fact that there is no improvement in your scars, if the area affected is on your face, you can't use it because the liquid product dries with the look of melted clear plastic, so you'll walk around looking like you had "plastic surgery gone very wrong". I would not recommend this product unless you want to waste your money.

I did not like the smell or texure of this product right off the bat. It is gooey and stinky like super glue, yuck! Then the cheap applicator brush broke after the first couple of uses. The only good thing I can say is that it stays on (like glue) even when I swim in the pool. I peeled it off afterwards. Makeup is a disaster over the product I looked like Boris Karloff! I found a better product so this will sit in a cabinet, or I'll only use it when I'm swimming.

I have seen nothing but great results. Its great!!! I had a really big bad scar after an accident on my knee. I applied twice a day,,Once in the morning and again at night, it dries very quickly..so you dont have to worry about smearing it on your clothes like most creams do. My scar noticeably began shrinking just after 4 weeks of using it,,I am a firm believer in this product! It really has improved my scar significantly I couldnt be happier!! I would def recommend this to all my friends. Thank you Scarguard!!

My son got into an accident on the playground and needed 10 stitches on his far head. He was left with a horrible scar. My friend highly recombined Scarguard. Once the wound was heeled I started using it on him. His scar is undetectable now. I applied on him 2x a day for 2 months. I keep the product in my medicine cabinet now just in case!!!
