This was a smooth strong bar of chocolate. I used it for chocolate chunk brownies, and melted for hot chocolate and cafe mocha. I got it on sale, and found it to be a great deal because you only need a small amount.

Normally, anything by Scharffenberger is fabulous chocolate. Not this time. It was dried out and crumbling even though the sell-by date was 9/2013. I've purchased chocolate during the summer previously and even though it'll occasionally arrive soft, the taste and texture is just fine once it re-hardens. Not here. So, my recommendation would be to purchase chocolate products from vendors who'll ship with cold-packs!
