I absolutely love this clip. However, after using it basically every day for work, play, and working out, it broke after about 3 - 4 weeks. I bought 3 more to replace it, though.

THIS CLIP WAS AWESOME UNTIL IT BROKE. AND THAT WAS AFTER THREE DAYS. I BOUGHT TWO, SO I USED THE UNBROKEN ONE, AND THAT ONE BROKE AFTER THE THIRD OR SO TIME WEARING IT. I WILL NOT BUY AGAIN.

I have a LOT of curly hair, and this is the only clip that really does the job comfortably. It's big enough to hold all my hair, it's not flimsy plastic, and the soft inside lining helps grip my hair. The edges are nice and smooth, so they don't hurt my scalp or scrape going in like cheaper clips. I use it every day, and after about three months, one of the plastic bits that holds the spring in place breaks off, and I have to get a new one. I have gone through about 6 of these clips, but it's still the most effective product out there for big hair. I have noticed that they are harder to find these days, somaybe they are being discontinued. I don't want that to happen because I really need this clip!

I had a Scunci octopus clip and I LOVED it. So when it broke I immediately went out and bought another one. But this one is the new no-slip grip kind, so it has a rubber-cement-like material on the inside.
Perhaps if you have fine, straight hair you'd want this to keep it in place, but I have thick wavy hair and I do not. It makes me feel like someone is yanking on my hair all day. I tossed it, and I'm now on the hunt for an old-style one that doesn't rip my hair out.

I clip my hair up for convenience more than beauty, but this clip does both. I first tried the Vidal Sassoon Octopus clip because it was on sale. It worked well enough, but it didn't hold up all my hair. I have clips all over so with my next order I decided to buy one Sassoon and one Scunci. I was surprised at the difference. This one is about 40% bigger, but it also has a rubbery spine on each spoke so it holds fantastically! My hair is just below my shoulders, straight, and fairly thick. This clip holds it all in any style I wish. The Sassoon one is good for part of my hair or in combination with another accessory, but it doesn't hold it all up alone. If you have thin hair, you might want to go with the other brand. If it is thick, go with this one. They are quite different in both size and grip.

I love this clip because it is a great and more fashionable alternative to the scrunchy or barrette. I like that the clip is large enough for me to be able to twist my thick hair into a bun and, with a little effort, get the clip around to hold it in place. It always feels secure and does a good job at holding hair in place all day.

This clip is lined with rubber which helps the hair stay in the clip. Feels very secure once in place. Doesn't get tangled in hair. I ordered a black one, but got a brown one in the mail, which worked out for me... it matches my hair color better. I ordered two more becasue i can't find them in the store.

I wear this in my thick wavy hair when I dress up for the evening and put my hair up - goes great with a little black dress. I place my hair in a low bun or ponytail and then clip this around it. It's very gentle/comfortable in my scalp; I don't even know it's there. My one complaint is that I wish the spring was painted black so it was less visible, but it's small and you can only see it straight on, so it doesn't bother me too much. The clip looks very dressy from both sides. It's an interesting shape, very sturdy, and not as cheap looking as your typical plastic hair clip. My go-to accessory for formal hair styles.
