I started using Sebulex for treating tinea versicolor. Anyone who fights tinea versicolor knows it will invade the scalp, too. When I was treating for tinea versicolor, I would lather my hair & then lather my body, waist up. I use Sebulex now 1 or 2 times a week in this manner to make sure it doesn't come back. When I was treating tinea versicolor, I lathered my hair & upper body every other day for 6 weeks. It rinses very clean & the bad smell others complain about doesn't last. My husband has never complained about the smell lasting. I also color my hair & have never noticed any color stripping, only extreme shine & softness.

I've used Sebulex for over twenty years. It's the only shampoo that keeps my scalp from itching or getting scales. It even smells good, lathers well and isn't too harsh.

THis shampoo is great for thorough, gentle cleaning, especially of sturdy hair. It would not be appropriate for color treated hair. It should be OK for permed hair. I use it every time I shower, which is every day or two.

I have struggled with dandruff for as long as I can remember. My father unfortunately passed this wonderful trait down to me. I had big flakes and it was scaly and even made my hair greasy (yes, i know how disgusting!). I have tried everything from not showering to showering everyday, air drying, combing my hair while shampooing, expensive oil treatments, head and shoulders, tgel, selson blue, even expensive designer shampoos. I've asked tons of stylist and even my doctor, who prescribed me this oil to apply to my head. NOTHING WORKED!!! I gave up wearing black and became so self conscious that if anyone were behind me I'd be thinking about all the dandruff they must bee seeing. It was just too embarrassing.

From all the rave reviews on drugstore.com, I decided this stuff is worth a try. I used it for a few weeks everyday now and I'm just starting to shampoo with it every other day now. I will be honest, the smell is horrible! It makes me gag sometimes, but if it gets rid of my dandruff then I could care less. It took a few weeks for my scalp to clear, but it was worth it. So far so good.

It's worth the smell, and the price. If you are anything like me and just frustrated with failed products that promise to free you of dandruff try Sebulex!

Kind of expensive for the amount you get but it helped my scalp.
