I thought people were exaggerating about the smell. When it's in the bottle it smells like mint or listerine which isn't that bad I could live with that BUT after you wash you hair and dry it, the smell is HORRIBLE. I can't even describe it. It didn't get ride of all my dandruff but it helped. I can't stand the smell though I will stop using this.

It mildly helped my scalp ezcema and unlike most reviews I actually liked the smell. It's minty so if you like the smell of tooth paste mint you won't have any issue's with the smell.

I use this to control my Flakes and Dandruff, it has been the only shampoo that has worked effectively, compared to its generic brand; equate. This is overall the best shampoo for combating dandruff and flakes.

I have very bad psoriasis on my scalp and rely on prescription topicals and shampoos to control it. While this doesn't work as well as prescription products, it's the best I've used over the counter. The medicated smell isn't great, but - on my hair - has never lingered. I am a huge product junkie and always follow up with conditioner, my hair holds the conditioner scent, not the shampoo. I am very happy with this product and plan on keeping it in my shower at all times.

I use this as my regular shampoo and no longer have or worry about dandruff. It lathers well and works great, leaving my hair shiny and clean and dandruff free. Thanks

Out of all dandruff shampoos, including all other selsun blue varieties, this one with the red cap works the best on itch and dandruff. Works like magic. Only bad thing is it fades color-treated hair. So the best thing to do is right before you re-color your hair, use this shampoo a few nights in a row. It works so great, you won't need it again until it's time for another recolor.

i use this product in rotation with 2 other dandruff shampoos (nizoral & psoriason). i struggled with dandruff for years and head and shoulders never did a thing for me. this 3 product rotation has worked well for me.

i only lather the dandruff shampoos into my scalp and roots and use a seperate shampoo for the ends and lengths of my hair after rinsing all of the dandruff shampoo out.

i suggest adding one drop of tea tree oil and one drop of jojoba oil to a large damp cotton ball and dabbing the areas of your scalp where you have the biggest dandruff problem. this has helped me in combination with the 3 shampoo rotation. i haven't noticed any dandruff since starting this routine a couple of weeks ago.

I have exzema and fight dandruff and itch continuously. This Blue is the one that always works for me but the smell is really overpowering. During the winter months the flakes get really bad so I use this one KNOWING it will soothe the itch. I don't mind the smell so much anymore, its definitely worth it.

I don't use this shampoo everyday but usually at least once a week.It does work very well on dandruff and leaves your hair feeling light and clean. I have some shampoo from a hair salon and prefer the Selsun Blue.Thanks
