I henna/indigo my thin mousy brown hair to thicken it up and give it shine. I use Rainbow Research dark brown powder and mix in a brew of coffee, hibiscus flowers, an egg, 2 tbsp of olive oil. I glob all that on clean damp hair and wrap it in saran wrap then a towel. I blow dry to heat up the stuff for 30 seconds or so every 15/20 minutes. After a few hours I wash the mess out and rinse gently. I don't wash my hair for two days, while henna-indigo oxidizes and the color deepens.

THEN I use these wonderful Shikai products. Thank goodness I found them. People say to me "your hair is glistening, what do you do to it." I tell them my whole spiel. Anyway, I found Shikai to be the best for my needs.

I have a lot of natural highlights so I thought that this shampoo would make them pop more. But my hair all blended into a different color. My split ends tripled and it breaks really easily. But one part of my hair would be greasy right after getting out of the shower. It would not get clean no matter how thoroughly I washed it. My hair now looks thinner and flat. I seriously could not stand this product and was so happy when I switched.

It cleans ok but didn't highlight or lighten naturally dark blond hair.

This shampoo leaves my hair feeling very soft. Since I have thick, curly hair, it often becomes unmanageable. With this shampoo, I love the look and feel of my hair even at the end of the day.

Absolutely love the way this lights up my naturally blonde hair! My hair also stays clean and fluffy until the next day. The only thing I don't like is that it smells vaguely like cat litter.

I love this shampoo! My hair is turning grey and what's left of the brown has become dull. This shampoo added a little sparkle to both brown and grey. Rinses clean, hair feels really smooth and silky.

I have been using this shampoo every other day for the past 2 weeks. I haven't noticed any extra shine or highlights - maybe it's because my hair is already quite shiny and healthy. BUT IT DOES ADD AWESOME VOLUME! That's why I still rate it high. I would buy it again and recommend it for creating volume which lasts 2 days (and I have oily hair).
