Not sure how to describe it but I once read a review on here that says it smells like pencil shavings and I would say that's pretty close. But other than that, it is a great shampoo! I love and try very hard to use only natural products and this is a great selection. It cleans my hair very well and doesn't make it feel greasy or dried out. Conditioner is key, of course. I bought this product because it was organic and was for daily washing. I used this product for almost two months to get a good feel for it. Overall I am not impressed. For my hairtype I had to use a lot of it to work up a decent lather. The smell was mild and nice but the shampoo didn't clean well enough. So I felt like my hair never really got washed and I started to get a buildup on my scalp. Maybe this would work better on someone with thinner hair. This one, even though it has a mild fragrance, is pleasant and natural, and does not bother me. I also like the feel of my hair after using it. I recommend it as a healty alternative to most hair products.

Comments about Shikai Natural Everyday Shampoo, 12 fl oz: I love the shampoo but the smell isn't really that great. I still gave the product five stars because it is a good product. It's all natural and it definitely helped make my hair softer and stopped it from falling out which I wanted my only gripe is the smell,it's just bland. I'm used to fruity smells and stuff so that could be a reason why this wasn't that great but all in all a great product!

After years of using shampoo's and conditioners with harsh chemicals and ingredients, I recently decided to change all of my hair products to all natural products. While searching, I came across "Shikai's" line of shampoo's and conditioners. I ordered through drugstore.com because their prices are unbeatable. My products arrived very quickly and I could hardly wait to try them. Let me say that I was not disappointed! The shampoo had a thick lather and cleaned my hair so well I was amazed. The conditioner was thick and creamy, and left my hair smooth, shiny, and tangle free. "Shikai" products, unlike many shampoo's and conditioners on the market, has an aroma that's very 'Earthy' and fresh. Bottom line is: I'm thrilled to be using a great product that has natural ingredients! From now on, "Shikai" products will grace my shower!

Cons Best Uses Comments about Shikai Natural Everyday Shampoo, 12 fl oz: After regular hair dyeing some years ago left me with a highly sensitive scalp, I began using a Tom's of Maine shampoo, which I liked very much but the company stopped making it. Their sales rep explained that the ingredients were too expensive for their company to make a cost-effective product, but that some of their customers started using Shikai shampoo and reported good results. I tried it and have been using it ever since. I have found Shikai Everyday Shampoo to be very satisfactory - gentle and cleansing and it lathers well.
