My son has had many food allergies since birth. Even the foods I eat have a major impact on him when he breastfeeds. We tried all of the sensitive tummy formulas out there and finally found that he needed a hypoallergenic formula. We tried both Nutramigen (Enfamil) and the Alimentum. Both worked wonderfully to eliminate the horrible gassiness & fussiness he had every time he would have formula. But after a few feedings, he refused to take the Nutramigen. My thinking is that he refused it for the horrible taste. Alimentum also has a bad taste to it, but it's not nearly as bad as Nutramigen. Also, my son seems to prefer the RTF over the powder Alimentum and my assumption again is for the taste. The RTF is much sweeter than the powder. Probably not good for him to be ingesting all the sugar, but I'm just happy that he has a formula that doesn't cause him such horrible tummy pains.

My daughter had terrible colics. I was using Similac advanced and changed to similac sensitive, but colics where still there so I went to the ped and she recomended Enfamil Nutramigen for food allergies. I tried it that day and my daughter got even worse, so since she was doing a little bit better with Similac Sensitive I decided to look for a Nutramigen option on Similac, and I found Alimentum. What a relief!!! She's been doing awesome since... i wouldn't change it for anything else :)
