When we first started using formula, our baby experienced extreme fussiness, cramping, and constipation. As a baby, I had a intolerance to iron-fortified formulas. We had a feeling that this could be the problem with the formula we were using for our baby. It is VERY difficult to find any low iron formulas. After doing lots of internet research, I luckily found this low iron Similac formula at drugstore.com. Our baby has done a 180 degree change with this formula and is finally happy, with normal stools, and no cramping. Thank goodness drugstore.com carries this formula! It is working great for our little guy and we are very pleased! VS Most Liked Negative Review No bang for the buck This may work for some babies but in 3 weeks my baby did not go number 2 in her own. Comments about Similac PM 60/40, Low-Iron Infant Formula, Powder, 14.1 oz: My youngest son has a genetic disorder that causes many problems including enlarged kidneys. On this formula, the swelling/fluid content of the enlarged kidney is greatly decreased in a matter of only 3 months. Also, the lower iron content enabled him to have regular bms. It took about a week for the other formula to get completely out of his system, but when it did...good grief we had a different baby! He was happy and enjoyed playing in his bouncer and swing. Previously the only way to get him to be remotely calm was to hold him. Setting him anywhere else resulted in screams of fury that didn't abate (believe me, we tried letting him "cry it out" while we were there talking to him and trying to calm him down, and finally picked him up after 45 minutes of constant screaming). Comments about Similac PM 60/40, Low-Iron Infant Formula, Powder, 14.1 oz: After trying many different formulas, this is the best so far. All have an iron content that is too high for our toddler. Our child just does not respond well to any of the soy, whey, goat or other iron fortified formulas. Really works for us and I am sure it will work well for your child too. We have used about 16 cans so far and doing quite well. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about Similac PM 60/40, Low-Iron Infant Formula, Powder, 14.1 oz: My daughter is breastfed and refused to drink any formula or food mixed with formula. I found out that it was the strong iron taste that made her gag ! She doesn't take a bottle of this new 60/40 formula with reduced iron from me, as she knows I have the "better stuff", but she will from a family member. The 60/40 formula also mixes well with cereal. I found it to be untrue that babies don't have a developed sense of taste and will eat anything. You should offer them everything according to their age and see what they like or dislike ! Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about Similac PM 60/40, Low-Iron Infant Formula, Powder, 14.1 oz: My baby girl was constipated terribly right from birth. We had tried everything the doctors suggested with no results. After 4 months of pain for our daughter, we bought this and happy to report that she is no longer constipated. Worked beautifully! My daughter goes to the bathroom on her own now and we don't have to use suppositories anymore. It is a little clumpy when mixing and I'm not sure where her gas is coming from though. It could be from the breastmilk. We are supplementing with the formula. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend (1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) Was this review helpful? Comments about Similac PM 60/40, Low-Iron Infant Formula, Powder, 14.1 oz: The twins were fussy, slept poorly and constipated. After the formula switch, one twin was immediately less gassy, slept sooooo much better, and not nearly as fussy as often. The other took about a week, and then slowly started acting like she felt much better, slept much better, and way happier. Before the switch they slept very poorly, woke up often, and cried a lot. This was a life saver for the mother. Finally, she can get some sleep!!!!! Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about Similac PM 60/40, Low-Iron Infant Formula, Powder, 14.1 oz: my twin grandaughters struggled with formula. We felt it was the iron as they cried when they pooped. After a day, one of the infants was much better. the other took about 6 days for the formula to show the improvement it eventually did. They are different babies. Before they slept a little and always woke up crying. Now they sleep much longer and wake up happy. No more screaming when they poop. No more gassy and fussy. A life saver.
