I have been using this product for 5 weeks and I finally found out that I add my skim milk first and then the Slim Fast product and shake well. The instructions on the can are the opposite. I found that all of the powder mixes well. By following the instructions on the can, some of the powder sticks to the bottom of the shaker and it was difficult to blend it, unless I used a knife to blend the powder at the bottom. What a difference.

I'm not overweight. I just want to tone up, and get rid of my muffin top. I would uses this as a snack, if your working out and moving around alot. If your not really active then a meal is fine. It causes me to be very gassy, but it taste really good. I lost maybe 8-10 pounds in a month. I mixed a scope with a cup of nonfat milk in a cup or a water bottle, and drink it slowly.

I remember trying Slim-Fast for the first time about 8 to 10 years ago. With a few sips of a shake, I threw the entire container of powder away it was so bad. So you can imagine I was skeptical about giving this another try.

Let me say I was pleasantly surprised. Although it does not taste horribly chalky as I remember, I feel like now it has too much sugar. I have to cut back on the powder I use or add 2 more ounces of milk to drink it. I find that the powder does not mix in thoroughly with good ol' arm strength and a spoon. A blend or hand mixer gives a more desirable outcome. And be sure to drink it within a reasonable amount of time. If you leave it sitting out, it begins to have a strange taste (even when re-stirred).

As far as weight loss goes, I find that it does work if you follow the 321 meal plan. If you're aiming to shed pounds, adding this to your normal breakfast regime will not work. You must use it as a meal replacement. When prepared, the shake or "meal" is only 200 calories. If you are not losing weight, the problem lies within the other foods you are eating.

I've used this about three or four times per week for about 20 years. I'm a Dietitian and I recommend it to people who are looking for an extremely quick breakfast and as a way for patients to add healthy calories to their diet.

It's a great source of vitamins and fiber and you can throw it in the blender and add a banana for some extra nutrition. I almost always blend it with Vanilla Soy milk and ice. I love to blend a scoop with Espresso and 8 ice cubes for a healthier version of a mochachino. I also love it when I'm craving dessert, but don't want to blow my calorie budget for the day. I've even blended it and stuck it in the freezer for 30 minutes to get a frozen treat.

Chocolate Royale is my favorite flavor. (I don't care for the pre-made canned version, it has an odd taste to me. I stick with the powder.) I don't use this for weight loss, but I think it's a nice addition to a healthy diet plan.
