No, I have no cancer, leaks, or punctures. Slow FE has been my answer for over 4 years now. My physician recommended it, after trying prescription iron...she felt this was the best. The packaging gives you a workout when trying to prepare a month's worth in a bottle. So, that could be a lot better, and probably would be better for the packaging processor, as well. I am 72 and doing well, working every day, sleeping every night. No diarhea, no constipation with this product. VS Most Liked Negative Review I was recommended this ... I tried it for a week but experienced side effects including diarrhea and bowel incontinence. I have since switched to another iron supplement that has the same dose of iron but in a different form, and the unpleasant symptoms have stopped. I speculate that the lactose in Slow Fe is what caused my problems, as I am moderately lactose intolerant. Not recommended if you are lactose intolerant. Comments about Slow Fe Slow Release Iron, Tablets, 90 ea: I've been using this product since 2008, when I first spotted it [...]. I've taken many types of iron pills and all of them gave me constipation. I stopped taking the Prescription Iron Meds my Doc gave me because it would "back me up" for 5 days, at least, and give me terrible bloating. I exercise regularly and eat healthy - lots of fruits and veggies, little meat in my diet. That said, I loved this slow release iron pill because it did not give me constipation and I benefitted from the iron! Now, 2011, my body has somehow gotten too used to this iron supplement becuase it is giving me the same symptons as the former prescribed iron vitamins. I have lots of bloating and constipation. Just last night I had to take a laxative because I havent been able to use #2 since Thursday of last week :(( BTW, I have constipation if I eat foods like Kale, Spinach, Cabbage, etc. But I know how these foods are like on my stomach. I have no idea what i'm gonna do now!! Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about Slow Fe Slow Release Iron, Tablets, 90 ea: I take Slow Fe once a day with breakfast. The good thing is Slow Fe is released slowly into my system so I haven't experienced the negative side effects I had with the standard Ferrous Sulfate. Slow Fe is my only alternative. They were trying to give me an infusion, but I had a near fatal allergic reaction. I go for blood test next month to see if my levels are coming up. So far no reaction.
