I figured it may work on small areas (like kneecaps) but I doubted I'd be able to use it for my legs and underarms. I have very dark hair, and while I'm not exactly the missing link, I've been shaving the bottom half of my legs as well as my underarms every single day since the late 1970s. I shave the top half of my legs about once a month. Even after shaving the black roots of my hair show beneath my underarm skin, just to give an idea of what kind of hair I have. Hairy kneecaps are anything but glamorous, so I've had to shave those with everything else; except, for some reason I've never been unable to shave my knees without slicing out chunks of skin and bleeding all over the shower. My kneecaps are basically scar tissue + hair. I saw an ad for smooth away, and figured for the price it might be worth it to give it a try on my knees. I doubted very much it could make them look worse. After stunning success with hair removal on the knees, I decided to try my legs to see what happened, and then, eventually I ventured to my underarms, expecting exactly nothing. I am so amazed at the initial and cumulative results from using Smooth Away that I want to buy truckloads of it, so I'm never without it. It really, truly gets rid of hair and makes skin as smooth as silk. At first it takes a long time (hours even) to remove the coarse hair that's been continually growing. You have to spend time on the same spots over and over again. The amount of time it takes to remove hair in the beginning of use is, quite honestly, frustrating, and I almost gave up. But HONESTLY, after a couple of intense hair removal sessions, my hair really truly started coming in thinner. And I can go 2 or three days without shaving! The hair in my underarms doesn't seem as menacing, probably because there isn't any irritation or bumps from shaving. I never knew underarm skin could be smooth. It can! If you have the time to begin by sloughing your body in repeated circles, inch by inch, eventually it's so worth it. My hair is thinner, my skin is smooth, and I can use the pads several times before having to replace them. I rated this 4 out of 5, because it claims to be "instant" hair removal, and that's not even remotely accurate. However, the other claims Smooth Away makes are absolutely true. It removes hair beautifully and painlessly, and it makes skin silky. First off, let me say that smooth away does technically remove hair from your body. However, it does not remove all hairs, so it leaves sporadic growth everywhere. It was very quick to use, but the smell was bad, like dog doody. After using, my skin was left feeling as if I shaved yesterday. So ladies, if you need something quick, this method of hair removal is the quickest. However its not the most effective so beware. Comments about Smooth Away Hair Removal Set, 1 set: A bit of peach fuzz on my chin and upper lip drive me crazy, and Smooth Away has been the perfect solution to eliminating it. I use this product just about every day and it never irritates my skin. It's so much better than waxing or using smelly cream hair removers. A few quick rubs, and the hair is gone. My skin is as smooth as ever.

I immediately tried it out on my upper lip and I was very impressed how it got rid of the hair. Very smooth like a baby's bottom. It works well on my legs. Good bye to nicks and cuts. However, I really do not recommend using this product for armpits. Not the greatest but if you are allergic to hair removal products and prone to cuts. This is a great alternative. I have fine blonde hair overall but the hair on my legs is dark and more coarse. I followed the directions exactly and am extremely disappointed. On the first leg it kind of worked but I had to use quite a bit of pressure and do it over and over until my leg burned. Then it stopped working completely before I was even done with the leg. Didn't work at all on the second leg - the pad was already worn out.

Best Uses Comments about Smooth Away Hair Removal Set, 1 set: I rubbed gently in a circular motion like it said too. It didn't do a thing. I rubbed just a little bit harder. It kinda worked. I thought it wasn't so bad after all even though it the pad on it was almost completely worn out. A little while later my legs felt irritated. I looked at them and the area I used the product was red and blotchy. I am sticking to shaving.

I WAS SITTING THERE, RUBBING THE COARSE HAIR ON MY LEGS AN D THE FINE HAIR ON MY CHIN AND UNIBROW UNTIL THEY WERE BRIGHT, STRAWBERRY RED.
