When in place these provide wonderful cushion for the ball of the foot. As a dedicated wearer of +4" high heels they were relief from pain of a long day standing. However the trouble/benefit with these is that they are not adhered to the shoe. Good if you want to move them from one pair to another. Bothersome in that they have a loop that goes over your toes to keep them in place, which stretches almost instantly and after taking more than a few steps they have slid under your arch.
