The new design is easier to use than the old one. I hope Sonicare will explore more durable alternatives -- I really hate throwing out a bit chunk of plastic every few months. Perhaps they could work on a design where only the bristles are replaced regularly. Also, the packaging is excessive, hard to open, and environmentally abusive. However, I notice that in regards to the brushheads they are ripping us customers off! They used to be MADE in the USA and REPLACED every 6 MONTHS but now the new packages are MADE in CHINA and REPLACE EVERY 3 MONTHS. The prices remain the same. So basically that means I have to spend twice as much each year on brushheads. I notice they wear out more quickly too (fraying, etc) because the bristles just seem weaker. They should bring back the old product that looked the same but that was MADE In the USA and of better quality.
