Just purchased my second sonicare brush. I had the exact same one, but after 2+ years, it broke. Considering it is used twice a day, 2 years is a pretty good life span. My only complaint about this brush is that the cost of replacement brushheads is expensive. Given what an ordinary toothbrush costs, 3 replacement heads should be far less than the $26 that I usually pay. If Sonicare would reduce the price of the brushes to $15 for a 3-pak, I think they'd get a lot more buyers.

This toothbrush is great, my dentist visits have gotten so much better.

I have been using this model of toothbrush for over 4 years. In the four years, I have replaced the toothbrush under warrantly three times. Unfortunately, the newly replaced toothbrushes do not give you an additional 2 years of warrantly, but rather continue with the warrantly of the old toothbrush. I have actually gotten to be quite a pro at contacting phillips and giving all the information needed to replace the toothbrushes. The issues I see with them breaking is as follows: 1) it gets soap scum on it fast from daily brushing and is almost impossible to clean. The rubberized grip soaks up all the dirt and eventully changes to a different color. 2) Another hidden thing that many reviews fail to mention is how over time, the movable area of the toothbrush, the metallic part, has a rubberized cover that eventually builds up with black grimey substances that no matter what cannot be cleaned out. 3) Important: while brushing, the body of the toothbrush is so condusive to movement of water, that as you continue brushing, a lot of the toothpaste + water eventually flows over the toothbrush and everntually onto your elbow. A "back flow preventer" would be nice.

Overall, the toothbrush is great, unfortunately there are a lot of bad things about. I have only decided to write this review after reading all the positive things said about this tootbrush and having recently come back from a vacation, where this toothbrush died on me on the second day of the vacation (probably a battery issue, no lights, no action, nothing). This simply is not a toothbrush that is worth it. It simply does not last and I have gone through about 4 of them. Please seriously consider this review before purchasing this toothbrush. Spending this much money for a toothbrush that will last for barely a year simply does not make sense.

My friend recomended highly on sonicare a year ago and my dentist told me that I brushing too hard so I bought sonicare. This model to be exact.
It works great. I love it.
I choose this model for option mode. Although once you own it you pretty much use for regular brushing and non-other. because it cleans well.
If you are thinking which model to get, I suggest to try the decent price model first and if you like it get it later. To me it was non necessary options. But thanks to sonicare, now I brushing lightly but cleans well.

This Sonicare Flexcare model is way superior the the Essence model. The brush heads on the Essence wore out in a month, 1/3 sooner than advertised. The Flexcare brush head is holding up well. The way the Flexcare brush head attaches to the handle is a great improvement over the Essence. There is no chance with the Flexcare of collecting spittle in the top of the handle as there is with the Essence. The variable speeds and gum massaging features of the Flexcare are useful as well.

I use this product anywhere between 2 and 4 times a day and it never increases sensitivity from overbrushing. I used to have this model but with the UV sanitizer and after about five years it stopped working so I replaced it with this one. I absolutely don't miss the sanitizer. It was bulky and prematurely aged the brush head. This charging base takes up much less space. It has two docks for two brush heads which is nice. The toothbrush itself has five different brushing/speed options. It is nice to use the lightest option after dental work so that your teeth are still clean with minimal pain. It's very lightweight and does not take up too much space (given that it needs to be charged) and holds a charge for upwards of a week so if you need to travel light and have a full charge, you can leave your charger at home. All in all, using this toothbrush has helped me have better dental checkups and converted my husband from a manual to an electric!
